a great bottle at a good price,
By Johnnycakes "Johnnycakes" (Conroe, TX) - See all my reviews Overall, these are great items, rugged, light-weight, and help reduce the amount of plastic going into our landfills...personal recommendation, I get the caps with the loop on top, they are so easy to attach to book bags and belt loops that way....

The best container for liquid that I've used. While other no-leak containers always seem to leak, this one does not. I can throw it in my computer bag without a care.
However, since the container is made from aluminum, it transfers heat well. If you put cold water in it, you'll soon have room-temperature water.

Do not buy SIGG,
By It has been about two months now and they are ignoring every effort I make to contact them via email, phone, etc.. I have sent emails to several different addresses of theirs and still no response, still no water bottle. Absolutely terrible customer support and who knows if I can every get my water bottle replaced.

Best water bottle on earth... so far...,
By
This review is from: Sigg Classic Bottle (Sports)
I did quite a bit of research before buying this water bottle. I've been drinking from plastic bottles for years now, and was quite disturbed to learn that chemicals leach into the water. Twenty years from now, I think history is going to look back regretfully on the last fifty years as "The Chemical Age." We are just starting to understand the grievous impact all these chemicals have had on our bodies and on our planet.
From what I've read, glass is actually the safest thing to drink from, but I've had a really hard time finding a suitable glass bottle that I can carry around when I'm out and about. Sigg seems to be a close second. The baked on enamel coating is very durable and has been proven to not leech any chemicals (here's an interesting discussion about the safety of Sigg bottles: http://www.dld123.com/q&a/index.php?cid=1796). The first few times I drank from the Sigg, there was a slightly metallic taste, but that went away very quickly. Until I find some sort of glass bottle that is practical enough to carry around, this Sigg is going to be my water bottle of choice...

Sigg is by far the best product in its catagory,
I'm addicted to these bottles and its helped me get over my addiction to wasteful disposible plastic bottles! After all, even if you do recyle ALL of your plastic bottles, it still wastes energy to haul them to a dump and re-process them. Dispense with them and use filtered water from the tap in these hygenic, stylish and handy bottles. They impart no taste to the water and the bottles themselves are very light.

I had read the reviews and noticed some posts about a funny taste. I got mine and I really like it. I have no funny taste and water stays fresh and cool. It's a nice quality product and delivered fast. No more plastic water bottles.

Can't Take the Taste,
By My understanding is that SIGG bottles use a polycarbonate lining - This is what Nalgenes are made of! I believe they are exploring other lining options (after the brewhaha about BPEs), but I would recommend a simple stainless steel bottle over a SIGG. Not only are they about 25% of the price, but they won't have the flavor issues of these bottles. One final complaint. If you're switching from a Nalgene, you'll immediately notice that you if you don't twist the cap all 273 rotations it won't be fully closed and will leak. Unlike the 3/4 twist of a Nalgene. Clearly I don't love mine. But they are stylish.

Good Water bottle,
By An Amazon Customer (USA) - See all my reviews Some say the paint chips if you drop it, thats true altho no big deal to me. I'd rather have less paint from the getgo, on it as thats makes it even more eco-friendly. The bottle will "sweat" with ice cold water in it so could get things wet in your purse/ backpack etc. But the bottle itself does NOT leak. Also if you ride a bicycle with it, you have to stop & unscrew the cover to get a drink, not like the squeeze bottles in which you could continue to ride & drink. |
