5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simply Amazing!!!! How Mr Roach keeps topping himself with each succeeding release is a miracle! He's hit TWO Grand Slams in One At Bat!!!!
This cd is perfect for quiet reflection on one's life, deeds, actions...the other path not taken/chosen.....

If you are a fan of ambient music or of Mr. Roach this cd is an absolute MUST...

3.0 out of 5 stars dissappointed
change it up mr. roach. same noises, same loops, different combos. your music is getting over done by your inability to seek different paths. maybe you've just released too much. maybe the peyote has fried your brain. still one of my favorite artists, but i just dont feel like i need to buy another cd made by him. I'd gladly get the money back for this one and be happy...

I just received my copy of Steve Roach's Sigh Of Ages, and I have already listened to it three times!!! I love all of Steve Roach's musical experiences, but there is something that seems to be speaking to me on this. The track entitled Morning of Ages has particularly caught my ear as it is one of my favorite Steve Roach musical journeys. I am anxious to listen to this cd several more times, to see how it continues to speak to me. I hope everyone else has an experience this wonderful...

What can I say that the previous reviewers have not already written? I have only listened to this cd once since purchasing it yet I must say that it quite astonishing with its deep level of profound sound and emotional feel. With many albums it is easy to get into a certain mental voyage as you listen to it unfold. For example, some are space journeys while others are spiritual trips to Tibet. Sigh of Ages takes me to where I have never been before with its rich, haunting, deep, mysterious music that will take repeated listening to in order for me to reach its many layers and meanings.
I would venture to say that this is one of Roach`s finest works and a certain candidate for one of the top cds of 2010. This music deserves six stars instead only five!

4.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable!, November 30, 2010

I own a lot of Steve Roach releases and this is truly one of his best and most haunting. I cannot stop listening to it! The standout tracks are Quelling Place and Morning of Ages. The latter is simply one of his best compositions over what is a remarkable career. If this track doesn't evoke some sort of emotional or contemplative state in you, well, I don't know what to say to you. This download also stimulates me artistically and I often listen to it while taking or creating pictures. I also fall asleep to it. It's a versatile piece of ambient in my opinion! Evokes dreams of memories long forgotten and increased awareness of your thoughtspace in the here and now. In other words, this is transcendent music and Mr. Roach is that unique sort of artist who can enter this sphere of creativity. Highly recommended.

Very restful music and it sets the mood for me.
I wasn't so much sold by the cover but when I heard it I really like it.
I think it is one of Steve Roach's better CD's.

2.0 out of 5 stars "Sigh" is right....it's dull, May 12, 2011

I get what this artist is trying to do, but in my opinion, Tangerine Dream's albums Phaedra thru Green Desert do it much much better.
