Book Description

April 1, 1998 Loveswept
His words had won her, heart and soul, but who was this man she'd agreed to wed?

Chase Forster listed plenty of good reasons to marry Leslie Baynton--her intelligence, their common interests, the understanding and compassion she showed him, a virtual stranger--but did the lady really want to be his e-mail-order bride? Falling for a man she'd never met was a little bit crazy, but as soon as she heard his warm, deep voice, Leslie traded logic for an instant family.  Wooed by computer and full of hope, she ran to his arms--but would their sudden marriage work?

Brimming with intriguing possibilities and more than a few surprises, Kathy Lynn Emerson's latest novel plumbs the pleasures of courtship and the intricacies of a merrily modern marriage! He thought he knew her better than any woman he'd ever met, but when a tender caress taught him volumes about his bride, could he be certain it was love?

"There's no television," Chase said, gazing around the old-fashioned bedroom.

"Don't sound so shocked. It wouldn't fit the decor," Leslie answered lightly. She was toying with the top button on her jacket and looking at him in a way that made his toes curl.

"Leslie?" he asked hopefully.

"Does it strike you that there's only one entertainment center in this room?" She nodded toward the huge bed with its high, carved headboard.

The button came loose. Chase's mouth went dry.

"I wonder if that's the sort of furniture they'd have had in a Victorian bordello?" She kicked off one shoe, then the other.

Chase's tie and suit coat joined her jacket on the chair. For once, he wasn't at all concerned about neatness.

"Or perhaps it came from some proper household, where a new bride might be told to close her eyes on her wedding night and think of England." Leslie reached both hands behind her, working down the zipper on her dress. As he watched, the cap sleeves slid off her shoulders, revealing smooth, creamy skin and the lacy top of her slip.

"Do you want to close your eyes?" he asked.

A sudden blush brought color to her cheeks. "Maybe you should," she suggested. "Just for a moment."

"Not a chance, Mrs. Forster." Two quick steps brought him to her side and he pulled her into his arms. "You don't have to be shy with me. . . ."

4.0 out of 5 stars Ever Heard of an E-Mail Order Bride?, August 6, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Sight Unseen (Loveswept) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kathy Lynn Emerson has merged high-tech and romance in the first story I've ever read about e-mail order brides. It's a marriage-of-conveniece story with a twist. You'll laugh, cry and sigh.
