If I wanted to buy a piece of junk, I'd go to the scrap yard.
Andy Stackhouse
The set up works perfectly together and the slide to the side design work very well.
JonDerek
The slide to the side mount is garbage, doesn't lock in tight when engaged.

This magnifier is a really good value for around $122.

I bought this magnifier along with the Sight Mark Ultra Shot Pro Spec NV QD, both for my new Colt AR-15 (LE6920MP-B). Somebody mentioned this component is junk and people should pony up the extra bucks and buy the similar EOTech component. I totally disagree - it's a matter of how you intend to use it and how often. Believe me, I wanted to get the EOTech HHSI (includes EXPS3-4 + G33.STS) - both parts in that package are "make no excuses" top shelf pieces. Those units have better quality mounts, plus the G33.STS pivot to the side works better then the SightMark part. I understand the EXPS3-4 has a better reticle - it's a 1 minute of angle with elevation distance markers. An important mention concerning the EOTech vs the SightMark tactical magnifiers is the EOTech is a 3x magnifier but the SightMark is available in 3x, 5x and 7x.

Most people who read this stuff likely know the AR-15 is a .223/5.56 caliber civilian version of the Colt M4 carbine length semi automatic rifle. According the military's own studies, the practical range (not to be confused with it's maximum range) for the M4 is from close quarters to 200 yards. That's my intended usage as well. Furthermore, I plan to use it for target practice every 3 months, and then as needed for self defense. Now, if I'm military or law enforcement, or planned to use my setup daily, weekly or every month, the decision would have been very clear - buy EOTech, Aimpoint or Trijicon which are mil spec "both eyes open" tactical sights which is what I was looking for at the time.

But, and it's a very big BUT - at the time of purchase the best deal I found for the EOTech HHSI was $980. Now they're higher at around $1050 - $1100.

The Sightmark 5X Magnifier works great. I have it mounted with an EOTech XPS2. I had to adjust to center the EO and The Focus was abit off but You can adjust the focus easy, just by turning the eyesite. sounds simple, but it seems others dont get that. The mount slide is a little loose, but can also be tighten down. Over all, a good Magnifier for a real good price. Sightmarks Support is also very responsive. Would buy other products from them as well.

Put this behind an Eotech 512. Was shooting 1" groups at 100yards with 55gr. Glass was good but not great compared to higher end stuff.

+ Descent magnifier given the price vs the Eotech 3x.
+ You can use it to slide to either side that you want(If you are right handed I would recommend sliding it to the ejection port side if you wear a 2 point sling so it doesn't ride on your chest).
+ Eye relief is ok (they state 53mm). I run with my stock all the way in so it is fine for me.
+ Has adjustments to make a good co-witness with your optic.
+ Has sufficient clearance to have a Magpul polymer BUIS underneath when in the in line position.

- Heavy
- Wobbles (doesn't really matter to me because the Eotech stays zeroed and if this wobbles a bit who cares as long as your HWS/red dot stays zeroed).
- Kinda cheapy (glue can be seen on the rim of the glass and I just black out the sightmark logo/lettering).

Overall: Buy if you are not into spending high dollar. Pass if you have the cash to drop on a $550 magnifier.

This is well worth the money, I mean its not EO TECH, but for the quality of the product its not that bad, had a blast being able to see where my round hits, so much easiar to sight in my HWS.

This magnifier is pretty good for the money I was actually impressed. I have used eotech magnifiers that are only 3x and I feel that this product is much better and just as clear I use it on my ar15 and I have been nothing but impressed with how it works it's deff worth buying

The produce looks good and in general I have been pleased with Sight Mark products but ......... The image produced is not sharp even when teamed with a Sight Mark red dot.

I purchased this from SPORTMANS GUIDE, thank god for lifetime warranty on all goods they sell. Anyway, i was using my sightmark maginfier in conjunction with the Sightmark Ultra Shot Reflex HoloSight SM13005. BTW that halo is very awesome for the price. The magnifier distorted the halo red dot in such a way that i would see 3 blurry 2 moa dots. My rounds were about 8" off upon centering the magnified red dots on the bullseye. I flipped the magnifier outta the way and easily scored bullseye hits @ 100. fipped magnifier back over and i was back to 8" off. Problem is a really like the idea of seeing your targets close up when needed. the flip to side is kinda crappy and so is the magnifier when its used but i can live with that for the money.

What i cant live with is the blurry red dot image and the funky rounds consistently flying off 8". I have another one on its way as a replacement. hopefully i got a bad egg.

my set up on my Smith and Wesson M&P15: MOE buttstock/pistol grip/foregrip, I have a quad rail so I can move my SightMark Holo sight further up the rifle. I purchased the 5x magnifier to co witness the Holo sight. my order came in 5 days later and I just got through 350 rounds at the range. after, and I mean right after I tightened all the bolts and centered the magnifier so that the reticle is centered I went and shot...my AR15 is zero'd at 50 yds and with the magnifier at a fixed position I grouped superbly. at 100yds and 150yds same thing. no ghosting on this magnifier because I adjusted the magnifier on my rifle so that I don't have ghosting (bringing the magnifier closer to your eye).
I then shot 300 rounds in a simulated run and gun where I would shoot multiple targets at different distances using the magnifier and then sliding out of the way to only use the holo sight...again, tightening those bolts out of the box eliminates the magnifier being loose, duh!
great product for the money...great to be an American
