This bore sight payes for itself quickly. I have a Savage 220 slug gun, and the ammo is not cheap. Using the bore sight probably saved me 8-10 rounds of three-dollar shells. However, if you want to sight-in beyond about 50 yards, you're going to be disappointed. Maybe you could see it's red dot a little better if you sighted in just after dark, but otherwise forget about it. I'm still glad I bought it, but I think a high-power green dot would work better.
