A delightful guide to the architecture of a beautiful city!, September 9, 2000
This review is from: Lviv Sightseeing Guide (Paperback)
The heart of Lviv is literally a treasure trove of art and architecture which was largely untouched by the ravages of World War II and is coming back to life in the post-Soviet era. While there are a few travel guides to Ukraine and some great books of photographs, this book is uniquely focused on the architecture of this beautiful city. The book includes hundreds of photos large and small of both the facades of buildings and details of sculpture, etc. Along with the photos is text in Ukrainian and English which tells the history and often current use of the structure or artwork. We've made several trips to Ukraine and one big regret is that we found this book at the end of our journey and didn't have it with us during all of times we've wandered the city.
