This high-ratio 18-200mm zoom lens incorporates Sigma's original OS (Optical Stabilizer) function and is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras. It is perfectly suitable for low light conditions, indoors, at dusk and at telephoto range. The SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and aspherical glass provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7") throughout the entire zoom range and has a maximum magnification of 1:3.9. The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system, which prevents the front of the lens from rotating, making it particularly suitable for using circular polarizing filters and petal-shaped lens hoods. The overall length of the lens does not change during focusing, ensuring convenient handling and ease of use, and a zoom lock switch eliminates "zoom creep" during transportation, a convenient addition when traveling.

Things I like about this lens:
* wide range (18-200mm) gives you a lot of flexibility
* OS (the Optical Stabilizer)
* comes with a hood
* sturdy lens
* big, but not too big

Things that I don't like so much about this lens:
* does not auto-focus within close (about 1ft or so) range (but you might be able to try manual focusing in that case.)
* it's not the perfect walk-around lens (due to focusing issue w/in short range)

Overall, I'd give this product 3.5 stars. (Sorry that it's listed as 5, I couldn't change it.) I like the lens, but you'll need other lens in addition to this one...especially if you're into macro/portrait type photos.

This lense is more than I expected when I paid the small price for it. No it's not the official Canon Lense but unless you are some top dollar photographer that has to get it right every time this lense is for you. I've enjoyed it so far and must say it's broadened my range.
