This makes it easy to use with circular polarizing filters plus it enables using a more effective petal-shaped lens hood to reduce flare as much as possible for more vivid images. It incorporates aspherical lens elements to minimize distortion and spherical aberration. With an impressive minimum focus distance of only 10.6 inches at all focal lengths, you are able to place subjects in the foreground to give a sense of depth to your scenic shots for truly creative and well-composed photographs. ♦ Digital SLRs such as the Nikon D40, D80 and D200 have a 1.5x Lens Factor and the Canon Digital Rebel XTi and EOS 30D have a 1.6x Lens Factor which makes getting true wide angle photos with a 28-80mm lens problematic. The images come out pretty sharp for my purpose. I am a casual photographer who like to shoot landscape and somewhat close-up photos. I've also shot some pictures at gatherings and the large aperture helps ensure no unintentional blur in most of the pictures in low light situations. The wide angle and the the f2.8 aperture provide a lot of flexibility. If you are looking for absolute sharpness, check out Sony/Nikon/Canon lenses with higher price tags. My camera is a Minolta Maxxum 7D. I would get a 17-70mm f2.8 if I can start over. 77mm filter size.

I have not had a chance to use it but I know it will be as good as I have read and have been told
