Great image quality but zoom range is limited,

The images come out pretty sharp for my purpose. I am a casual photographer who like to shoot landscape and somewhat close-up photos. I've also shot some pictures at gatherings and the large aperture helps ensure no unintentional blur in most of the pictures in low light situations. The wide angle and the the f2.8 aperture provide a lot of flexibility. If you are looking for absolute sharpness, check out Sony/Nikon/Canon lenses with higher price tags. My camera is a Minolta Maxxum 7D. I would get a 17-70mm f2.8 if I can start over. 77mm filter size.

I have not had a chance to use it but I know it will be as good as I have read and have been told
