5.0 out of 5 stars Best sign of the year!
I read Mary's book as soon as it came out in January. I really wasn't thinking of writing a review because the book was such a treat, I didn't feel that she would need yet another sparkling review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best sign of the year!, March 12, 2006
This review is from: The Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
I read Mary's book as soon as it came out in January. I really wasn't thinking of writing a review because the book was such a treat, I didn't feel that she would need yet another sparkling review.

As I went on Amazon today to order another copy of Sign of the Dove for a friend, I came upon one of the most mean-spirited reviews that I've ever seen anywhere on Amazon. This review sounds a lot more like a personal vendetta than a fair and balanced book review. I would really like to know what book this person from Indiana was reading because it most certainly wasn't the delightful book that I read.

I give Maryrose Occhino's book five stars and recommend it highly. The wit, wisdom and charisma that you will find if you tune into Mary's daily, live call-in show on Sirius 114, or streaming live on www.lime.com, is exactly what you will find within the pages of her book.

When reading Mary's book, you will find that she is writing for the everyday person. Her writing style is friendly, upbeat and real. If you tune in to her radio program, you will hear listeners say how much they love her book and how they couldn't put it down once they started reading it. It is a great read and in it, you will learn ways to live a more joyful and positive life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awarness and Resolution!, March 17, 2006
This review is from: The Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
MaryRose has exceeded my expectations with her new book "The Sign of the Dove" She has helped me become more aware of the validations I have been receiving for sometime now and also has helped resolve many unanswered issues in my life. It has been many years since I have sat down and began reading a book and could not put it down until I was finished. The years of experience and the amount of knowledge that she brought into her book is yet one more validation of her gift. I am a true believer that there is no such thing as co-incidence that we are all here to learn and teach during our physical life time. Thank you, MaryRose for a job well-done ~ your angels and guides should be very proud of the work you are doing and the amount of lives you have touch and truly made a difference. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, Fast-Paced, Inspirational, September 21, 2006
By
This review is from: The Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
MaryRose Occhino is an amazing woman. She has come through great adversity to become a leading psychic medium. In this book, she describes incidents in her life, both personal and professional, that have been influenced by intuitional and "otherworldly" messages, synchronicities, gut feelings, what-have-you, that have been common in her family's history, but accelerated and took prominence in her own experience when she developed multiple sclerosis. She believes the MS lesions on her brain did something to enhance her natural gifts.

This book, which is well-written, is full of episodes in Mary's life, in which she was influenced and guided by psychic forces. Mary asserts that if we pay close attention to the nudges and intuitional sense we have, it will never fail us. She takes pains to caution that things just do not happen for us, though. We have to work hard, and exercise free will to manifest the choices we are presented with through intuitional guidance.

Her account of her father's surgery and hospitalization was gripping and moving.

This book is not for everyone, of course; no book of metaphysics and psychic exploration is. But, for those who have had their own experiences, and look for others who can help explain them, this book is very helpful. For those who require scientific "proof," one might consider reading Gary Schwartz's "The Afterlife Experiments," where psychic mediums, including Mary, were tested under rigorous scientific protocols, such as double-blind experiments, and achieved astounding results. There are other such books, but that is a good one to start with.

I recommend The Sign of the Dove as a reader-friendly, stimulating book on the subject of psychic phenomena.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mary Occhino is one of the most brillant and talented psychic mediums out there today..., March 11, 2006
By
This review is from: The Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
Mary somehow manages to get to the core of our being with her in-depth views about our co-existing dimensions. Her exceptional ability to connect with the other side is fascinating. She is able to interpret and relay messages from the other side with her empathy for both present and past lives. She is capable of entwining our two worlds with her powerful capabilities and knowledge of the "other side". Her sufficient ability and talent to be a dominant force within the psychic realm is astounding. Her ability to allow herself to be directly put in the spotlight, without fear of persecution by her peers and others is enchanting. She is able to lay it all on the table with her ebullient ecclectic mannerisms that leave the reader nothing but stunned by her truthful nature. Mary Rose is able to bring the reader into the realm of the unknown, and leave one feeling elated and comforted at the same time. Her precise enthusiams and strong beliefs in her own capabilities leave the reader in awe of her open and honest ability to conjure the possiblilities of life after death. I, for one, consider her to be exceeding of all others in her field of work, and one of the most suitable, useful and desireable contemporary psychics and authors of our present day. She brings the reader close to her heart and soul and shares her unique knowledge of the unfamiliar with those all around her. She is well deserving of the many accolades that have come her way as of lately. She is well respected and cared for, by not only her peers, but those of whose lives have been blessed by her kind and caring touch and resounding voice and natural ability and power to share her story with the world around her. I think her book is a must read for anyone contemplating an in depth and personal look into the true meaning of life, love and happiness. Her book is amazingly capable of bringing one in touch with oneself and contemplating the meaning our own existance in this world. She offers the reader her own words of wisdom that hit home with the savvy and value of one who is able to perceive strongly within her own beliefs and capabilities. This book is a definate victory and absolute requirement to read, for those interested not only in the psychic realm, but those interested in the everyday significance of life itself. I highly recommend this book for readers of ALL ages. If you read nothing else this year, allow yourself the pleasure of delving into the wonderful, awe inspiring world of Mary Rose Occhino.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rare treasure wrapped in simplicity, May 9, 2007
By
Ms Occhino, unlike bestselling novelists who would seem to follow the polls for every idea, is a person who has been there. She writes from the experience up, not from the fashion down. She is not ashamed to embrace simplicity if that is the path to a greater truth, and she 'gets it right' because she has learned the method of her spirits. It is refreshing to step aside from the wired, the sensational, the falsely complex, the misleading. This book is a blessing, and one can only thank Ms Occhino for having lived it.

5.0 out of 5 stars My signs, January 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
After reading Mary Occhio's book I feel that I have learned more about myself. I've always said that my cousin and I were identical twins separated by birth. We've always been best friends and really know how each other feel. She is definitely a soul mate-not a romantic soul mate, but a soul that travels with me. Read her book and you will understand what I mean about soul mates.

For the reviewer that said she got so many signs, but she didn't get the job. Mary O says, "Don't be a chihuahua!" You have to surrender to the universe.

I loved reading all three of her books, and look forward to reading the two she is presently writing. In the meantime I will listen every morning to "the best freaking show on radio." Love you more!

This review is from: The Sign of the Dove (Paperback)
Its my first book from Ms Occhino although I often listen to her morning show on Sirius radio. In the book like on radio she expresses herself in a very fluid and heartfeld, direct way, making everyone feel as if (s)he is already a personal friend.

Her gift is sometimes awe inspiring. I found her very touching and interesting as she describes her exit from the terrible illness MS that plagues her.

This sort of book is so needed in a materialistic world. Like the best spiritual books, she helps you see the urgency of personal change toward growth, and gives practical direction for the everyday person. You end up feeling like you could also, develop some of those gifts.

Her writing style is not literary. It is not her purpose. You are given access to a unique life experience, and the writing is direct, spontaneous, every day language almost as if she were speaking, and she often uses the New York expressions she was raised with. Personally I found this enjoyable and sometimes amusing. My first language is not english. Her focus is clearly expressed this way. Also, because her show is on satellite radio, her listeners are often truck drivers and people on the go, so the writing here will be resonant to her audience. Bravo Mary, and be your health ever better

This is a must-read if you are a fan of Mary's Sirius program or anyone interested in an easy to read, enlightening autobiography.

She writes in a manner that sounds like she is telling a story directly to the reader.

I will read this book again and recommend it to anyone that is interested in the read-life stories of a psychic.
