5.0 out of 5 stars New, yet traditional in the "Dragon's Milk" books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Near miss
I wanted to like this book more than I did, but I found its tale within a tale structure incredibly irritating. Everytime you got lost in the engrossing tale of Lyf and her struggles with the baby dragons, you would be thrust back to the self-important harper telling his part of the tale. I loved the bittersweet ending. The dragons are brought to safety away from humans,...

Lyf, Kaeldra's foster sister is now forced to flee, because of her green eyes which link her to dragons. Frail Lyf, and Kaeldra's son, Owyn, manage to escape hunters who are after them. Now they must take the draclings they found, to the last mother dragon. This is the third book in the greatest fantasy trilogy written. Once again, Susan Fletcher manages to write a thrilling book of dragons. She brings back old characters, and introduces new ones. The story is new and fresh, but has the traditional feeling of "Dragon's Milk". This book can be read as it's own story, or as a part of the trilogy. It's a great story either way, but is more exciting to read along with the others

5.0 out of 5 stars Sign of the Dove was a great book for a rainy day or any day, January 1, 1999

This was a great book. What a great book for a sequel. Lyfs struggle to get the draclings to thier new mother was a great and overwhelming adventure. They meet so many people. One of the draclings was a good character but wanted to much attention. If you haven't read this book, READ IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sing of the dove: 5 star, December 21, 2000

I believe that this book is a 5 star book. It covers all that I enjoy reading about. There is danger, loyalty, love and care which are pushed to their fullest capacity. The loyalty of 1 green-eyed child to the next is tested as is the love that you hold and the power you weild inside of yourself. The children in this book risk it all to save the dragonlings, they rarely give any thought to themselves. One child, the girl, risks her very life to save a dragonling who loves her more than anything. This book touchs the soul of dragon lovers like me and I am glad that I had the pleasure of reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars best book i have read in five years, January 6, 2003

Sign of the dove was a great book to grab someones attention. I love dragon chronicals. This is the second book i have read of three. The intensity and discription of the actions and feelings of the charactors were so strong, i could feel my self as lyf going through the dangerouse times she lived in like it was real. Susan Fletcher is definatly a gifted writer and i can't wait to see if there are going to be anymore books to go with the chronicals. The world needs more writers like Susan Fletcher.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!, April 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
Lyf is a young girl of about twelve that is trying to save a batch of draclings. (Baby dragons.) She is also trying to save a dragon egg, and along the way it hatches. She is turned away from several homes that were supposed to help her before she finally makes her way to find the last of the Ancient Ones. The Ancient One will take care of the draclings.

This book was adorable, bittersweet, enticing, enduring - all that jazz. My favorite dracling was one of the younger ones, Kindle. Another dracling, Smoak, was cute because he always had the hiccups. (Or was that Skorch?)

I was a bit annoyed by the constant interruption of the self-centered harper, giving his input between each chapter. However, these interruptions are sort of important, so don't skip over them. Something I liked, though, was that Susan Fletcher put a pronunciation guide at the very back of the book, along with a timeline. These are key.

I loved this book, and invite and encourage everybody to read it. I liked it so much, in fact, that I'm kind of sad that the trilogy is over, because I want it to keep going and never stop!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sign of the Dove, May 16, 2004

This review is from: Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
This book is about a girl that has to take care of dragons and she is trying to find this guy her sister is talking about that knows how to take care of dragons. Then while searching for this guy she meets freinds that help her on her journey. She also almost gets discovered by people because the dragons are young and playful. She gets caught on a boat trying to get across the sea to another continent but the person she is caught by is a person who knows of the sign of the dove. the sign of the dove means that they know how to help dragons. The dove sign is usally on a house or on a shirt or any place you would show the people who know of it. But eventually she finds the man and he helps her feed the dragons and take care of them. I would reccommend this book to people who like fantasy and dragons. I would rate this book a 10 out of 10 because I love dragons and I love dragon fantasy books.

A Kid's Review
Sign of the Dove is a great book. Lyf,(who you may remember from dragon's milk)is the main character in this book, and i like how the story shows how she changes over time. Also, you may be surprised how Kaeldra has changed, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good book, though it could be better., May 1, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sign of the Dove (Hardcover)
This is quite a good book, though i think the ending is a bit sad (when the dragon mother flies away). I loved the way the author showed her characters. she didn't make them seem allpowerfull, she made them look like real people with weakness's.i recommend this book to anyone who is from 11 to 13 years old.
