was recommended to me by a friend when a relative who died with the brown scapular on I was despairing about - this book will quell any doubts you have as a Catholic about the brown scapular devotion. It is a sign of hope in a post Christian era.

John Haffert researched the Brown Scapular for the seven hundredth anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Simon Stock in 1251. Now on the 750th anniversary of that event it is very timely and helpful. The 700th anniversary was widely celebrated and led to a resurgence in the wearing of the scapular. The 750th went almost unnoticed. However, the Scapular promise is still in effect, that is, "Whosoever, dies wearing this habit will not suffer eternal hellfire." Reading this book will increases devotion to the Blessed Virgin and encourage you to wear your scapular. It is convincing!
