5.0 out of 5 stars delightful western romance, February 4, 2007
When her three daughters declared their independence from her, Letty Wolf angrily cut them out of her will. Now a year later she regrets her hasty decision made in a rage and wants to reconcile with them as she fears what will happen to her loved ones since she has heard the howl again; three times married, three times howling; three times a widow. If either or all three contact her she will reinstate them in her will, which means less offering to sycophant nephew by marriage Mason Little.

Pinkerton National Detective Agency Detective Trace Sinclair is assigned to find the oldest Meredith Moore. He tracks her in Texas so he leaves New York City for the Lone Star State wondering how to persuade Meredith to see her mother. However, upon arriving in Texas, he finds Meredith behind bars accused of abetting bank robbers; she insists she was a hostage and not a co-conspirator. Trace decides to break her out of jail to keep her safe until he can prove her innocent and away from whoever wants her dead. He never expected to fall in love with his client's daughter.

The opening tale of the Wolf miniseries, SIGN OF THE WOLF, is a delightful western romance that brings alive 1880s Texas so much so the audience will believe they accompanied Trace on his assignment. Trace and Meredith are a fine fun paring as they fuss, and frolic while fighting unknown enemies and fall in love. Readers will enjoy their romp as Elaine Barbieri delivers an entertaining oldest Wolf offspring historical romantic suspense with Moore coming.
