Created by tableware designer and gourmet cook Debbie Segura in 2001, Sorrento is perhaps Signature Houseware's most popular dinnerware pattern. Sorrento stoneware suits almost any kitchen décor with its rustic, Italian countryside feel, showing a raised dot and olive leaf patterning on most of the solid-colored, thickly-glazed pieces. Square plates are also available, and bakeware and glassware complete the extensive collection, now available in more than half a dozen colors ranging from neutral suede to bright ruby red.

The middle of three nesting Sorrento mixing bowls, this one measures nine inches in diameter and holds up to 90 ounces, or nearly three quarts, ideal for mixing a batch of cookies or serving a tossed green salad. All three mixing bowls feature a different exterior pattern. The rim band on this medium-sized bowl, which helps provides grip, is embossed with raised dots, while vertical bands of more dots and Sorrento's signature three-olive-leaf design decorate the sides. Alone or with the two other mixing bowls, this attractive and functional bowl makes a great gift for someone who is building a Sorrento collection. I had seen this new ruby color in a specialty store locally and wanted it for Christmas dinnerware. I was happy to have found it on Amazon for less money and free shipping. You can't beat that. This Sorrento line of dinnerware is great.

Signature Housewares Sorrento 90-Ounce Medium Mixing Bowl, Ruby is a decent product. Pricey for what you get in stoneware. Heavy,freezer to oven to table stuff. Too bad you have to buy by piece rather than complete set.

Although labeled as a mixing bowl, I anticipate it being used as a serving bowl for a family sized salad or vegetable. Love the color and style.
