Over the course of my career, I have assembled an amazing team of people who have traveled with me from Tokyo to the Bahamas, planning and designing magnificent celebrations.  Words cannot express how grateful I am to have so many outstanding people in my life who not only support me but also make our couples shine as bright as stars.

More About the Author

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sasha Souza was raised by a flower-child mom who encouraged her daughter's flair for the dramatic. Cultivating a background in the theater arts, Sasha emerged as a businesswoman with a gift for theatrical styling and, after helping numerous friends and family members plan their weddings, she opened her first event design firm called The Whole Shebang!. Today she is an event scholar, designing events and weddings the same way a Broadway producer approaches a play -- she makes sure that the stars shine and the audience/guests always go home wanting more.

She was also a featured event planner on the Style Network TV show "Whose Wedding is it Anyway???" Sasha and her work are also frequently featured on television programming including CBS "Early Show", ABC's "Primetime" wedding series special, "Inside Edition", "Eye on LA", and "In Wine Country", among other shows.

Sasha Souza was also a featured celebrity speaker at the Conde Nast Bridal Group's Wedding March series part of the March on Madison series as well as a regular speaker at The Special Event Show Conferences and is an active keynote speaker for events across the country.

Sasha Souza was honored by Modern Bride Magazine as one of the Top 25 Trendsetters in the wedding industry...the only planner in the San Francisco Bay Area to ever receive the honor. Sasha Souza is a Master Bridal Consultant, a distinguished member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and a member of International Special Event Society (ISES).

Sasha believes strongly in giving back to the community that has provided so much for her. Since 2008, she has been the Events Chair for the SEARCH Foundation which helps her peers in the events industry who are faced with catastrauphic loss & illness and most recentlly has taken on the very important role as Founding President of Wish Upon A Wedding. Wish Upon A Wedding is the nation's only wedding wish granting non-profit for couples facing terminal illness.

As a planner and collector of wedding books; this one stopped me in my tracks. First the layout is done beautifully. The photos Sasha uses throughout the book are real weddings, not just "setup photo shoots". It's so personal that you feel like you are stepping into someone else's wedding! She also includes a section at the end of the book, "Love Stories" ... a brief overview of real weddings with the bride and groom's name include and stories. I'm a sucker for reading stuff like that.

Not only is this book full of modern, visual yumminess, but the script is so easy to read, informative and most importantly, FUN! Unlike other wedding coffee table books where there is a huge staff putting it together, you can tell Sasha was involved in every aspect of her book, including the writing. It sounds like her, meaningful and from the heart.

Sure, some designs are over the top, but why not? When I buy a book like this I want to be inspired! And that is exactly how I felt reading it. Recommend this book, to the power of 20.

I ordered this book because I knew the "Master of Color" would deliver serious eye candy, and I was not disappointed! But this book is so much more than beautiful pictures. Sasha delivers a homerun with the details -- from finding the inspiration for your perfect event to how to manage the beastly seating chart and everything in between. This is a must read for wedding professionals, brides and anyone wanting to create fabulous events.

As a professional event planner, I have perused and purchased many books and magazines. I can tell you I haven't been compelled to purchase one in about 4 years because they seem the same. The same style of design, the same flower. I saw Sasha's book and I had to buy it immediately. What a breath of fresh air this book is. This is a must have for everyone in the event planning industry and for anyone planning their wedding or social event.

My two favorite sections are color couture and food and beverage. What am I saying. I love it all from the first page to the last. The manner in which Ms. Souza laid out her content, from inspiration to the details is just amazing. As a event professional who has had some amazing events myself, I saw that I had not yet begun to push the boundaries in design. You will find plenty of pictures for inspiration for your own event, whether it be wedding, birthday or any other event.

What separates Sasha's book from other publications is her events are different from each other. I look at these individual events and they are very distinctive and customized. Kudos to all the couples who hired Sasha, their events were just gorgeous.

You will love the eye candy, it is sensational.
