Book Description

An Amazon Bestseller - SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE
Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on track, but her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.
Then she meets Caleb.
She saves his life and instantly knows there's something about him that's intriguing, but she's supposed to be on her way to a date with his cousin. Things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally.
They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she's ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive. Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, and a pain as well, but Caleb's enemies know he's imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities and take her from him.
Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another?

Review

"This book was scary good! I could not put it down! I needed to read the next page as much as Maggie needed Caleb's touch!" - ReviewsByBeth

"Shelly Crane is the next Rachelle Mead! She has weaved a love story with loss and challenges that will pull at your heart and having you rooting for the couple. This is a must summer read. You will not be disappointed!" - ADiaryOfABookAddict

"I LOVED THIS BOOK! I was going through a paranormal funk. Seriously, I would not read any more paranormal novels because of how recycled all of the ideas are. THANK YOU Shelly Crane for bringing back my love for these books. The writing was great, and I would re-read it a million times." - ABookFriend.net

From the Author

Caleb came closer to me, releasing my hand and framing my face with his and I felt a flood of calm and warmth.
"Breathe, Maggie." I hadn't realized I was holding my breath. I took a deep breath and felt the air rush in and out frantically as I blinked. My head cleared a little. He smiled.  "Everything's going to be ok. Alright? Just don't be upset. You don't have to be scared."
"What are you doing?" Kyle asked and pushed Caleb's hands away. The second he did that, I felt cold and oddly desperate and heard myself gasp. "Dude. Not cool. Look, I understand that she saved you and you feel- whatever- but I told you about this girl. You can't just-"
"She's the one, Kyle," Caleb interrupted, never taking his eyes from mine. It felt like an eternity had passed since he'd first taken my hand and I was still tingling in my veins from whatever had taken place. "It's her."

4.0 out of 5 stars The plot is great, the editing was bad August 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ok, I liked the book... The plot was great and it keeps your interest the whole way through. My problem was the editing; I have never (NEVER) read a book with so many mistakes in it. There were missing words, extra words, misspelled words, misused words, missing punctuation marks and extra ones all the way through this story. There were sentences that had more than one error in it and sentences that repeated the same thing over, just using different words. And yes, maybe I expect too much. There will probably be mistakes in my review that people will be sure to point out; but this book holds the record in my history of reading (and I read A LOT) for mistakes. Otherwise, except for grammatical errors... Very Good book and I had to keep reading it to find out the ending. And hopefully, there will be a sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! July 9, 2011

I can't believe this story only has one review. Significance has romance, adventure, funny dialougue, an amazing supportive family, and some magical powers that come along when you find your one true love (your significant). This book really amazed me. I was not expecting much because it was only a dollar, but I enjoyed every minute of reading this story. You think that once a conflict is resolved everything will finally get better, but the fun part is when it just gets worse. Five stars to Shelly Crane. I can't wait for the next book!

Really, read this book. If you need a good YA book that has the right amount of teen romance this is the book for you. Even after a week of reading it, I still get a smile on my face just by thinking about how Caleb and Maggy meet. BUY THE BOOK!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute YA - Needs a proofreader August 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This author obviously has talent for storytelling. This is a well done YA book, except for one factor.....it needs a proofreader! This is the perfect example of why spell-check is not completely reliable! I felt like Inigo Montoya, "I do not think it means what you think it means..."

If I hadn't read it on my kindle, I would have put red marks all over it. It was a shame, because the actual plot and talent for dialogue is very nice. Good read, bad editor.

I cannot wait for the sequel. The book grabbed me from the first paragraph and I found myself sneaking peaks at my Kindle at work in order to finish it. Very well written.

Ok, so I rarely write reviews. And I never thought I'd write anything but positive reviews...

However, I wasted my good time trying to get to into this story and all the other ratings/reviews betrayed me.

I can almost always trust the reviews on Amazon, but not in this case.

I can overlook editing errors all day long, and I can ignore aspects of a story that are not my style - but ONLY TO A POINT!!

I have read the Twilight series, and I dealt with all the lengthy, sappy, adoration between the characters, but this takes that style of writing to a new point of annoyance. I could literally flip through pages and pages of "does he understand my love, maybe he won't like me, I am not worthy of his love, etc"...and not miss any storyline changes. The characters' emotional inner dialogue would literally go on for pages. It was constant emotional blah blah blah.. it was ridiculous! And, it wasn't in just one or two areas in the book, it happened over and over throughout the book.

My reason for writing this rant is that I love this type of fantasy, supernatural romance... I even like the romance stuff. The reviews made me think I'd love this book. However, when all you do is talk about the trist between the three guys that are ga-ga for the girl and how this guy waited too long, and that guy is just a friend, and is this third guy right for me?... I mean come on.. add some real action more than twice through the whole book, and give us more about their powers and how it feels to be supernatural, and just make the plot and action 1/10 of the rest of the dribble and I would have read it.

If Saturday Night Live wrote a joke book, about the mushy adoration and emotional roller-coasters that happen in Twilight, they would have wrote this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I hoped November 4, 2011
By Mike V.
Format:Kindle Edition
With the number of 5-star "Amazing" reviews my expectations were perhaps to high. What starts out as an interesting idea leads into a weak plot. SPOILERS coming up but honestly, there isn't much in this book to spoil.

Premise:
This story takes places over 10 days and follows a young girl, 17-year old Maggie Masters, as she graduates from high school and runs into Caleb Jacobson, a 19-year old college boy visiting his family in Tennessee. When Maggie accidentally touches Caleb the two "imprint" with each other and become soul mates because Caleb is actually an Ace. Aces are basically humans with special abilities that live in secret around the world with their families, or Clans. Aces gain one special ability after they imprint and then "ascend" together with their new mates. Special abilities can include telekinesis, telepathy, etc. It is also very rare for an Ace to imprint with a normal human.

Conflict:
Maggie is the main character and is fairly interesting. She has complications that she is dealing with; her mom left, her dad is depressed, she is not sure what she is doing after high school, and is now trying to understand this strange new world of Aces and why she's in love with Caleb who she just met. The Aces themselves have issues. There have been no new imprints in the Clans for a long time so Maggie and Caleb connecting is a big deal. Also, the Clans don't always get along and a rival Clan, the Watsons, lives nearby and is causing trouble.

Why the book fails to connect with me:
Romance:
Maggie and Caleb have imprinted and are now connected in a new and intimate way. They can now see and understand each other on a different level but as a reader I still need them to earn these feelings.
