Written by child development instructor Penny Warner, Signing Fun: American Sign Language Vocabulary, Phrases, Games, & Activities is a guide to learning American Sign Language for readers age 11 and up. Each handsign is illustrated with cheerful and cartoony black-and-white pictures. Presenting 441 useful signs for a variety of favorite topics, practice sentences with everyday phrases, games and activities for practicing signs, tips on how to sign or fingerspell, use numbers, and communicate with deaf people, Signing Fun is highly recommended as an excellent beginner's book and vocabulary builder for learning ASL.

This is a pretty good book to get people started. My wife signs, mostly in "song" at local churches, it adds another dimension to the music for the hearing and blesses any deaf that might attend. There are just a few deaf in our area of the western North Carolina mountains, my wife knows them all. Me, I enjoy watching her.

I like this textbook better than Learn to Sign the Fun way but unfortunately, it does not include practice sentences whereas the latter does. Also the instructions for games are not quite clear.

this book is a fun way to learn sign language. It has cute illustrations and makes learning to sign fun for all ages.
