5.0 out of 5 stars Happy music, December 31, 2004

This review is from: Signing Time! Songs Volumes 1-3 CD (Audio CD)
We got this CD with our DVDs of Signing Time. It is great for driving in the car and for playing at school. You can practice your signing by listening to the songs and trying to remember the signs without the visual of the shows. We play this at school all the time and the kids love it even if they have not yet seen any of the Signing Time shows. It is very upbeat happy music so they like to dance and sing along. It also has sing along versions of the songs on the end of the CD. If you go to www.signingtime.com
you can hear demos of some of the songs. Also some of the songs on the CD have additional verses that you don't get to hear on the shows. So you get a little bonus. We highly recomend this CD along with the Signing Time shows.

My children and I love the Signing Time series. Each video is better then the last. When we want to hear the songs we pop in the CD and sing and sign along. My son wants to hear the Silly Pizza Song over and over. We practice the signs along with the songs and usually end up laughing because we still can't sign as fast as the song! Guess we'll have to practice more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Starter Kit for Children and Parents, January 4, 2004

I've bought at least 10 signing videos in an attempt to teach my child sign language and the signing times series is definately the best so far. My child loves to watch Alex and Leah and I really appreciate that an adult does the signing as well so I am sure I'm using the signs properly. Great gift for baby showers!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for kids of all ages...., March 19, 2006
This review is from: Signing Time! Songs Volumes 1-3 CD (Audio CD)
Wonderful for kids of all ages. I never really knew just how much sign language my handicapped daughter knew till I started playing these DVD's for her. She loves the music and all the characters. She's 32 years old and still able to learn new signs. I've ordered the rest of the series for her too.

These songs are so fun! My kids always ask to listen to the Signing Time CD's. I have found myself listening to them when I'm driving around alone! They help the kids remember and practice the signs from the videos.
GREAT CD!!!

I bought this video when my daughter was 11 months old. She is now 5 years old. And she still loves watching the videos and hearing the songs. The videos reinforced what I was already teaching her. After a couple of weeks of watching the videos her signing exploded! She was eager to learn new signs that it was hard keeping up with her. The videos are so well constructed that my daughter learned to recognize the words on the screen, meaning she could say the word and do the sign for it even before they did. My goal was for my daughter to be able to communicate with me before she could verbalize her wants and needs. With the help of these videos we achieved that. Now at age 5, she sits with her younger cousins and teaches them the signs. Thank goodness there are 13 volumes to whet her need for "more, more, more" Signing Time!

We use this in our Signing and Cued Speech Club at school. The children, deaf and hearing, learn the signs with the DVD and then we use the CD for doing signed performances of the songs in school assemblies and concerts. 'The Silly Pizza Song' and 'Proud to be Me' are particularly popular with children and teachers. It would be useful to have the lyrics included with the CD, but I think they are available from the Signing Time website.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product!, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Signing Time! Songs Volumes 1-3 CD (Audio CD)
My son had a trach for the first two years of his life, so he's speech-delayed. These videos are absolutely wonderful! Wonderful! We've all learned the signs and in doing so have helped my youngest curb his frustration at not being able to communicate while he learns how to speak with his voice. Since he's started signing, oddly enough, his vocalizations have improved significantly as well.

Children make the signs along with the adults, so the learners can see the correct way to make the sign, along with the interpretations of the sign done by the younger set. This was recommended to me by our speech therapist and the set was probably the best purchase I've made in aids for my youngest as he struggles to overcome a rough start in life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Sign Language Video for ALL, January 4, 2005
This review is from: Signing Time! Songs Volumes 1-3 CD (Audio CD)
I not only have Vol 1-3 but I pre-ordered Vol 4-6 before they were even released. I wanted to get them as soon as possible. Why you ask? Because these are the all time best videos to learn sign language. As an adult, I have reviewed signs that I learned years ago, and my 2)grandchildren age 5 years & 8 months love watching them. Both are hearing children, but we are learning it as a second language. Because of the format my 5 year old catches on really fast and knows many signs just after watching these video for a few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Video for parents and children, December 31, 2004

I purchased these DVD's when my daughter was 6 months old. Initially she just watched them for entertainment, but around 11 months she started signing by herself. The amazing thing was it was just from the videos, I didn't spend a lot of time working with her on the signs, and she just kept picking up new signs. At 18 months, she can use over 30 signs, and speaks the words while she's signing them.

In addition to being very helpful with communicating with your child. These videos are very entertaining, they feature alot of different people, children, babies, and animals to help keep your child interested. There's also a lot of "hum-worthy" music with the videos.

I would highly recommend these videos to anyone interested in sign language. The next 3 volumes were recently released, and I have them all ready.
