I am surprised that noone has reviewed this one. Bernsteins playing gives you "goose bumps" right away. and so does Mehldaus playing. The way Bernstein plays is extremely melodic, and you can hear the chordal movement (same as when you hear Kenny Burrell) and his tone is just beautiful, and on top of this. his lyrical playing it is also groovy. Also, check out Mehldaus playing, in particular on the ballad "The things we did last summer" I wonder if yoy can get much more "feeling " out of a piano. McBride on bass keep things "cookin"

Fabulous CD from beginning to end. Straight ahead jazz guitar at its best, Peter's tone and timing are just off the scale. Brad Melhdau the perfect compliment to Peter. One listen to "Jive Coffee" and you'll be a Peter Bernstein fan for life.

This is one of the best jazz guitar albums I have found. His tone is beautiful and the band is tight. Marvelous piano work. Unlike some albums that feature a signature performer, the band really jams and cuts loose on a few tracks in a great way. They cook. 5 stars all day long.
