Review

“The star-minded businessman or woman will enjoy Signs of Success: The Remarkable Power of Business Astrology... Business journalist Steven Mark Weiss, who activated his appreciation of astrology into his career, presents the twelve zodiacal signs in realtion to well-known leaders, indicating, for example, that socially conscious Oprah (Aquarius) 'has demonstrated that a commitment to social caring can even turn a profit when passion is sincere.'” —ForeWord Magazine

Book Description

J.P. Morgan once famously remarked, “Millionaires don’t have astrologers. Billionaires do.”

For modern business professionals, the idea that what’s in the stars might have some bearing on the very cut-and-dried, numbers-dominated corporate environment may seem pretty “out there.” But time and time again, the science of astrology has been shown to provide uncanny insight into timing and trends. This book examines the accomplishments of hundreds of business greats—from Walt Disney to Oprah Winfrey to Bill Gates—through the remarkable and surprising lens of astrology.

Signs of Success gives all readers, be they astrological doubters, dilettantes, or devotees, a practical and entertaining overview of the many applications of astrology to business endeavors. The book provides an analysis of the 12 zodiacal business personality types, and fascinatingly recounts how an understanding of the stars has affected landmark business events throughout history. Witty, wise, and practical, this delightful book shows readers that when it comes to real-world business and leadership, the sky truly is the limit.

More About the Author

I was spawned in a ditch by a mother who left me there naked and cold and too hungry to cry...

Man of La Mancha,eh? How do you top that?

Truthfully, I was spawned in Brooklyn. Grew up in Rego Park. Went to Forest Hills High School, Harpur College and, later, the Culinary Institute of America.

Lots of stuff happened, including the 60's (I don't remember them), several years in Chicago as a food editor, far-flung astrological indoctrination, and for the last 30 years the ache of experiencing Moonscape,Arizona turn into Orange County East.

Along the way I've written or significantly contributed to five books, none of which I'd disown.

This morning I went for a bike ride.

The book is an overview of astrology and how it is used in business for people analysis and business decisions. It is an easy read and contains a lot of useful information.

Each chapter starts with a quote by famous people, sometimes insightful, sometimes humorous.

The best chapters were those dealing with each sign and what personalities and traits those people would have as business leaders. Even with this brief amount of information it is interesting to see how well different people in my organization fit into their signs.

In Signs of Success, Steve Weiss brings fascinating insight into a topic that is rarely discussed in western business philosophy, but one that largely influences eastern business practices--astrology.

Signs of Success is a well-written book that takes a sensible look at the practice of astrology and how it can be pragmatically applied to business. It also gives wonderful insight into the lives of some of the worlds most successful and powerful business leaders, and brings to the surface many of the values that made them successful.

In the end, whether you believe in astrology or not, reading this book might just allow you to transcend the boundaries of your own thoughts and social traditions and free your imagination to "think outside the book" to create meaningful change in your own life and business environment.
