"And mighty poets in their misery dead" - Wordsworth
Whether you like poetry or not, you're going to be absolutely mesmerized by the twists and turns of this excellent book. All three of the giants of the romantic era -- Percy Shelley, John Keats, and George Gordon, Lord Byron died young, a fact we accept. But what if they'd all three known the same two women -- the Kristonosos sisters, sensual sirens, capable of driving men mad with desire? What if there were no way of stopping them?
I was extremely impressed with Ms. Ptacek's research on the fashions of the times, as well as depicting the architecture of Italy and Greece. Her descriptions of the sister's dresses are outstanding and her pacing is excellent. You can't put this book down until it's done.
Ptacek is an accomplished writer, and I'm definitely going to seek out more of her novels.
