All is Not What it Seems, March 20, 2008
This review is from: Silencer (Paperback)
A state prosecutor has retired after a particularly trying case (pun intended). At her mountain hideaway, where she has gone with her boyfriend to rest and recuperate, she is visited by a police detective she has previously worked with. The body of a man has turned up, a witness in her final case, supposed to be in federal witness protection. She returns home to hear a message from another (protected) witness in the same case, who is being pursued by two men. What's going on? Who's behind all the killing? It's one plot twist after another in this paranoid action thriller. It would probably work well as a movie, but I was left interested but largely unmoved by the book.
