4.0 out of 5 stars I still think there was a conspiracy, However . . ., March 24, 2000
This review is from: Silencing the Lone Assassin: The Murders of JFK and Lee Harvery Oswald (Hardcover)
You ever disagree on a topic and then later find out that maybe you might not have all the facts? In my case, this is the assassination of JFK. I have read over thirty books on the assassination and most point to a conspiracy. Along comes John Canal and maybe, just maybe I need to rethink my position.

While I am still leaning to the conspiracy angle, Canal give a well documented and well-written book that may, may have you think again. Over the last four decades the answers have been shrouded in a world of mystery and cover-ups, now some of those clouds are disappearing.

Canal uses extensive evidence from ballistics expert testimonies, newly acquired evidence and his own simulations to formulate the assassination, his arguments are clear, well documented and extremely convincing. This reader was most impressed by the layout of his findings.

The other thing I liked about this book was the way the author used phone records of Oswald and Ruby to track the movements of both men. This is the first time I had ever read any book that detailed this are of the assassination. While I still believe in multiple shooters, this book does give you another side to consider - well done!

2.0 out of 5 stars Two Stars For Effort-Ludicrous Theory., September 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Silencing the Lone Assassin: The Murders of JFK and Lee Harvery Oswald (Hardcover)
Boy is this book lame- Let me get this straight the only conspiracy is Ruby's shooting of Oswald under orders from the Mafia..The Author opines Oswald shot and acted alone- Contrary to what we see in the Zapruder Film and dozens of witnesses in Dealey Plaza & Parkland Hospital the head shot actually came from the rear. Dr. Malcom Perry reported 3 times 11-22-63 the throat wound was one of entrance. Again the Single Bullet Theory is seen as fact yet, orderly Tomlinson reported to the Warren Staff and head of Sec. at Parkland O.P. Wright told author Josiah Thompson that the bullet was wedge shaped, not at all like the supposed MC Bullet of infamy. SS A Roy Kellerman told the Warren Commission that Finck reported to him" there are no outlets for entry in this man's Shoulder" Then we have none of the SS Agents being able to positively ID it for the WC> To top it off during the Shaw Trial, Dr. Finck told the New Oreans Grand Jury that the bullet never penetrated! Testimony recently released from one of the Autopsy assistants makes clear the bullet never penetrated the pleural cavity. Knowing this..you would have to be intellectually dishonest to believe the Official Story. But, that's what they wanna do is keep you confused. Anyone can see the fatal shot came from the right front..add a big mess on the right side of his head in the Z Fim( which wasn't seen at Parkland) and remove any traces of blood going out the rear of the head, a little blackening of the back of the head- remeber the Z Film wasn' seen by the vast majority of the public until Robert Groden showed it on Geraldo in 1975.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silencing the Lone Assassin, May 14, 2000
This review is from: Silencing the Lone Assassin: The Murders of JFK and Lee Harvery Oswald (Hardcover)
Though I do not concur with all of the conclusions this is an extremely valuable book to examine in determining the truth about what occurred on 11/22/63. The book is an essential resource in the library of serious researchers. John Canal has gathered a tremendous amount of evidence and organized it in a well written treatise .
