Another great read by the talented Joan Francis. It is a real page turner with history and action wrapped up for your enjoyment. Like her other book Old Poison, I was reintroduced to Diana Hunter a private investigator who this time is envolved with a more personal mystery. She finds she is an heiress to more than property but knowledge that people in high places would kill to get. She is pursued and framed and threatened and has to again use her wits and 007 like tricks to elude her pursuers who would like to see her in Guantanamo bay in chains. I liked how the book also follows the exploits of her heir who takes us to Pre WWII Germany and we are witness to the rise of Hitler. Please read this book and tell all of your friends if they like a fast paced and richly written thriller in the genre populatized by writers like Sue Grafton.

I learned a lot while reading this book. It was a wonderful way to strengthen my understanding of history and be thoroughly captivated while doing it. The story was exciting and entertaining. The characters were interesting and likeable. I appreciated the way their conversations flowed and sounded natural and plausible. This is a book I'll probably read again some time.

I personally read your book while it was here in my office and found it to have everything I want in a book. It has a story that is interesting and holds my attention throught the whole book. It had some funny spots, some sad spots and some very exciting/tension building moments where I was on the edge of my seat and a really thought provokeing theme.
I thouroghly enjoyed reading it. I could hardly put it down and when I was at work the characters and story kept comeing to mind in the middle of my day. I cant wait to read the next one and will be looking for the first one at the book store soon.

What a terrific read. Following the details and intricate twists and turns of the rise and fall of Hitler with a modern day twist. I loved the grit, determination and honor of the charectors. The author obviously emmersed herself into the research required to make this accurate and used great imagination to weave an amazingly entertaining and enlightening tale. This is a great choice for book club discussions or as a jumping off point for more reading on this period in our history.
