2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't meet expectations
My washing machine (front loaded Samsung, with stacked dryer on top) vibrates when the load isn't balanced and the spin cycle begins. It's bad enough my wife thinks the house will fall apart, even though it doesn't bother me that much. I was willing to try anything to appease my wife, even spending $40 on some "silent feet". 5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, saved buying a new washing machine:, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Silent Feet - Anti-vibration Pads for Washing Machines and Dryers (Gen 2)
I recently bought a used front load "super high effeciency" washing-machine and dryer set made by LG. I have an LG dishwasher and have been very impressed with how quiet and well it works.

When I first used the new washing machine, it was reasonably quiet, except for when spinning. It is up on 14 inch tall pedestals, and when the spin cycle started, it jumped all around. Also it was shaking my whole house, making paintings, even in non-adjacent rooms, rattle on the wall.

My wife was afraid of it and refused to even do laundry. I assumed I was going to have to sell it again, probably at a loss, and buy something else. But, first I convinced my wife to let me try a few things, such as these feet.

I orderred these feet, then while waiting, I also put two 30 pound cat litter buckets on the washing machine, this stopped it jumping around, but it still shook the entire house.

Today these feet arrived, they are really well designed. The box has two pair of feet, a "sliding" pair for the back feet, and a "sticky" pair for the front feet. You put the "sliding" pair under the back feet, so you can then adjust the position before installing the front "sticky" pair. The result is your machine can't slide once setup. This alone is handy. Best of all, they actually successfully damp the vibrations so that my wife didn't even hear the washing machine running spin cycle on the "high" speed when sitting down-stairs, directly under it.

Alas, they are not complete miracle workers. If I remove the two 30 pound cat litter buckets, the washing machine starts bouncing up off the feet still, and thus makes lots of noise. BUT, with the extra 60lbs of weight, and these feet, what was once impossibly loud, is now nearly silent, and my house is once again stable, no bouncing paintings or photos.

HIGHLY recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic product, April 9, 2009
This review is from: Silent Feet - Anti-vibration Pads for Washing Machines and Dryers (Gen 2)
This saved my sanity and my washing machine. We've had a front loading HE machine in a second floor laundry room for a few years now. Everytime it was loaded with something heavier than baby clothing, it would shake and vibrate half the house. It was so bad that it cracked some of the plaster in the room next to the laundry room. I was considering selling the washing machine and buying a top loader, but decided to give these a chance first. After installing the feet (took just a few minutes, would have been faster if I had someone to help me) I loaded the machine with some jeans to see what it would do. This has COMPLETELY eliminated the house shaking. I highly recommend to anyone trying to solve this problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars These actually work!, March 21, 2009

I balked at the price of these silent feet but went ahead and bought them for our efficient but noisy Maytag Epic washer. My washer sits on a wooden platform, made by my husband. He easily installed the feet and darn if they don't work! There is still a little vibration, but nothing like before. These little feet work. I can easily recommend them, if you have a noisy, walking, front load washer.

That seems like a really high price to pay for a few small pieces of fancy foam, but if it worked, I'd be happy.

Needless to say, these aren't miracle feet. We still feel the washing machine vibrate the windows downstairs, or shake the beds. My approach now is to try to do as much laundry as possible when my wife and kids are not home, because silent feet didn't save the day.

I'm not saying they don't work for others, but in my situation my wife still thinks the house will shake apart, and wants to try adjusting levels (done that), and everything else to stop our washing machine from shaking when it begins the spin cycle. Don't have miracle expectations from these, or you will likely be disappointed.

Works Awesome I used to hear the "humm" of my machine in the next room and its reduced that, also stopped my machine from walking, although I never really had a bad problem only slide my machine back in place after 20 or so loads but I seems to have greatly helped that

This product was so easy to install and has made a significant difference in the sound and vibration that my washing machine USED to give off. It has been the perfect solution to my problem and I would recommend this product to anyone who is bothered by their machine. Great investment!

1.0 out of 5 stars Made the vibration *much* worse..., June 7, 2011
This review is from: Silent Feet - Anti-vibration Pads for Washing Machines and Dryers (Gen 2)
- I have stacked front-loaders on the second floor that vibrate the whole kitchen under them when the washer is in the spin cycle, so based on the many glowing reviews I got a set of these. After putting them in the vibration was even worse than before; not only downstairs in the kitchen, but the washer and dryer themselves visibly swayed from side to side rather alarmingly with the the "Silent Feet", where they pretty much simply vibrated in place without them.
- I removed them and now they're gathering dust. I knew it was a gamble, and I lost. (shrug) Hope this helps set appropriate expectation....

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Money, June 6, 2011

I recently purchased a steam washer and dryer. I have tried tirelessly to balance the washer and stop the vibration. I came across this product, and figured I would give it a try. The washer still wobbles, but the vibration is almost stopped completely. I need to work more to properly balance the washer, but even with heavy wobbling, the vibration has almost completely stopped. Well worth the money. No more doors vibrating, things falling off the shelf. It also seems to protect the floor. This was a concern due to having my laundry room on the 2nd level of a 2 story house. I would highly recommend this product for use with these top-load washers.

Had some effect in quieting my dryer. The washing machine vibrated much worse with these. A very expensive mistake ordering these.
