Captivating,
By Book Chick (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Silent Heart: Seventeenth-Century Italy Comes Alive in This Historical Romance (Thorndike Christian Historical Fiction) (Hardcover)
Silent Heart is a captivating novel.
Through the development of a growing love between the two main characters, Youree illustrates the great hardships of families who lived in 17th century Italy. The story of Stefano and Francoise plays out dramatically in the midst of precarious family situations and fears from past tragedies. I was especially intrigued at how well issues such as the role of women in society at that time, family responsibilities, and true Christian charity were described through the dialogue, setting, and characters of this beautifully written romance. The story of love, perseverance, and faith in God held my interest from the first page to the last. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the Renaissance Brides series.

Silent Heart,
This review is from: Silent Heart (Heartsong Presents #628) (Mass Market Paperback)
This story was incredibly depressing to me. I understand that every story must have a little bit of drama to make it worth reading, but this story was one constant mess. There was way to much sadness to make this book good. I got very tired of reading about who was going to die next. Also it seemed like the two main characters fell in love very quickly. After a week of knowing each other they were madly in love. This story did not hold my attention at all.
