Not understanding the material - the SH problem,

I know a lot of what happened here was something that cmight not have been expected but, really, it didn't strike me as SH. I saw a person trying to free themselves - something I could uunderstand - and the means they used to do it. i also saw the little girl there and knew that face, knew her story really, but I really didn't think she was the beast that would do what she did. If you are wondering what happened you can check on other stories as well, but you gget the gist when it says "she is free." The thing it doesn't say is that freedom isn't freedom at all; it is simply a mindset that SH has yet to break.
As far as comics are concerned in SH, this isn't bad BUt it isn't great. The commentary here tries to be bigger than it should be, and the way the comics and the books work SH up makes you think of haunted hellish places. My mind sees it as something else and, playign the games, I think I am owed a little. Personally I do not think the writers play the games or understand what is happening here, however, and that irks me a little. Controlling the dead in other comics? Calling in something to keep you safe so you can get out? This is not the feel that I know and love. I see no monstrosities and, when I do, they are fodder or they are a blip in the system. SH isn't that - it is a horribe thing filled with horrible things. It is a nightmare that knows your name. This - it is a shadow that dwells on being something aside from what I have known and loved. I cannot, in good conscience, say that you should get it. It does have some god places but, overall, it isn't what you want or need as a fan of SH (and I assume you are a fan if you are reading serialized SH books).

I'm having a difficult time deciding how I feel about this comic.I enjoyed Dying Inside, mainly because Troy's foray into Silent Hill was probably the most psychological of the comics and was the only one that seemed to TRY to stay true to the games. But the last three issues were pretty different, and I was upset about that because they could have developed Troy's story and it would have been better.
Much. Better. This one seems, at least to me, to seem to capture the feeling of Silent Hill- gloomy areas, disturbing creations- but it doesn't capture the story of the games. I don't want a rehash of Silent Hill 2 (best of them all, IMO) but I wanted something that stayed true to that feeling, and I don't seem to be getting it here. Christabella is a decent character, albeit a foul mouthed little girl, but she doesn't have enough potential to her, enough interest to hold me that much. Keep in mind I'm not entirely all the way through the story... not even close, really, but I'm getting a first impression and it's not a great one. Not terrible, but not great. I don't know, maybe I should finish it first, but if you're a die-hard Silent Hill fan, like me, you've probably already picked it up just because you love the series so much and want it all. But, for the love of God, fire Scott Ciencin and the new artist and get Ben Templesmith back. Please.

The grafic novel Silent Hill: Dead/Alive, was as good and inovative as its previous noels, but its ending was a bit off. The earlier novels gave me the impression the one must sacrefice, or atleast had to change to survive. This one was a bit weak on that note, regardless it was a good read and a creative story.
