From the Manufacturer

Product Overview

Silent Hill Re-Mastered Collection combines two classic spine-chilling Silent Hill titles from the past and brings them to the Xbox 360. Introducing Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 with enhancements including true high-definition graphics, this offering gives new fans and old fans the opportunity to experience the early era of Silent Hill as a true genre-defining experience with the added value of two games.

Silent Hill 2 follows the sad story of James Sunderland as he woefully enters the sleepy town by a mysterious letter from his deceased wife. Seeking the chance to see her again beckoned by guilt and remorse, he stumbles upon his fears manifested through unseen evil and ominous characters leading him to the asylum of another world. The fight against the truth that his wife has died, James must escape the lumbering demon Red Pyramid (a.k.a Pyramid Head) along with his mystified fears that have taken the form of living monsters within the haze that is Silent Hill.

Serving as a sequel to the original Silent Hill game, Silent Hill 3 centers on the forces of the demonic cult that spreads the insanity of the otherworld through Claudia, a cult member attempting to bring Harry Mason’s daughter, Heather, into Silent Hill. With a subplot and themes involving the loss of innocence and childhood, a web of intrigue is spun by Claudia with intentions to birth a new god.

2.0 out of 5 stars Love the Silent Hill games..But... August 8, 2012

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I am a huge fan of the Silent hill games..So when the HD collection came out I couldn't wait to get it since I never had the 3rd Silent hill game for my collection..Sadly When I got the game and started to play it there where so many problems with the sound and how glitchy the game play is I stopped playing it.Konami said that they would be releasing patches to fix these problems,So I have been waiting for the patch to be released to be able to play the game without all the issues.

Konami released the patch for the PS3 about a month ago and we where told that the 360 patch would be out in a few more weeks, well now Konami has said there will be no patch for the Xbox 360..I had emailed Konami and this is the response I got.

"Dear Konami Customer,

Thank you for contacting Konami Customer Support about this issue. We understand your frustrations at having waited so long for an announcement regarding the patch for the XBOX 360 version of Silent Hill HD Collection. Unfortunately we are unable to patch the game. We apologize for the inconvenience. But unfortunately due to technical constraints we simply will be unable to patch the XBOX 360 version."

So basically I paid $50.00 for a glitchy game where the sound doesn't even work all the time..Yes I love the Silent hill games but this was a waste of money.

Don't buy the Xbox 360 version,if at all possible buy the PS3 version or avoid buying at all...

1.0 out of 5 stars Inferior and broken game August 9, 2012

Do Not buy this game. Konami has announced that they will not release a patch to the xbox 360 version. They acknowledge that this game is broken but they refuse to release a patch due to technical issues and resources. if you want the best Silent Hill experience i'd recommend the original xbox versions of Silent Hill 2 and the playstation 2 version of 3. they look pretty much the same if not better and they won't screw up as much as this broken POS.

1.0 out of 5 stars These 4 or 5 star reviews are misleading... May 13, 2013

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Look, I've checked out several of the reviews for this product and I find it odd that so many of the higher reviews are so articulate and well written when this "game" is clearly a miserable excuse of an HD Collection. This leads me to believe that A) these people were PAID by Konami (the publisher) to help bolster what is assuredly almost universally bad reviews for a broken piece of software, or B) these are some truly hardcore Silent Hill fans that desperately want to believe that this pile of broken promises is actually a pleasant update to some of the best horror games ever made.

I love Silent Hill since the first one appeared on the PlayStation years ago, and continued to love the series up until about Silent Hill 4: The Room. This HD collection is, quite simply, a soulless cash grab on the part of Konami. This "HD" collection somehow manages to be INFERIOR to the original standard definition versions of the game that came out several years ago.

The games have always relied on the heavy use of fog for both atmospheric effect and to also mask some of the blemishes that last gen games sometimes had, like poor textures or unfinished environment geometry. Not in this version! For some reason, when they ported these two classics to this HD version they somehow forgot that the fog is a big part of the game and it ended up not being present. As such, you see every wrinkle, ungainly hair, and outright unfinished sections of the game because you were NEVER SUPPOSED TO SEE THAT STUFF. Not only that, but, for some reason, they decided to rerecord the audio and dialogue without giving players the option to have the original dialogue and audio be selectable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this. August 9, 2012

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This game was buggy when it was first released to the point where the PS2 versions are greatly superior. The PS3 version was patched to a point where it's allegedly up to snuff (not sure, I've never played it) but the 360 version is unpatched and Konami has said that they have no intentions of fixing it. Konami knows it's broken, has no intention of fixing it, and wants you to pay 40 dollars for it. I was really looking forward to this collection, I'm so disappointed.

"Unfortunately, Konami will no longer be bringing the patch to the Xbox 360. The company cited "technical issues and resources" as reasons for its change of plans.

Speaking about the Xbox 360 patch cancellation, Konami said that it "apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues".

The patch fixes a couple of important issues relating to the collection's frame rate and audio-synching. "

So basically its a $50 broken ass game ! AVOID !

4.0 out of 5 stars Where is Silent Hill one? April 13, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
I understand that there are some technical aspects that hardcore gamers may find unsettling with this collection. To untrained eyes and ears, I really don’t see many issues with the 7th generation transfer. However, I am highly bummed that “Silent Hill” is not included. I kind of look the original “Silent Hill” games as a trilogy. Cool to have both games, but you won’t go to the store and buy a “Lord of the Rings” boxset and find “Fellowship of the Rings” missing out of the box. That said, Here is the review.

“Silent hill 2” is the greatest game every made. “Silent Hill 3” is a fantastic and terrifying sequel. Did you know that there are articles that discuss the symbolism behind environments, monsters, character interactions, and even save points? Yeah, these games are that cool.

All other survival horror games until this point gave us military hunks or sexy females to kill monsters with lots and LOTS of ammo. In contrast, the original “Silent hill” series gave us very convincing characters with demons in their closet. My favorite character from the franchise is definitely James Sunderland. He runs a city block and he’s out of breath. He’s a bad aim. It takes him a REALLY long time to get up after having his legs knock out from underneath him. He is disgusted with his own personal experiences and choices-which strongly impacts the gaming experience. All of the “SH” characters from the original 3 games are fantastic, but James has always been my favorite.

If you didn’t already know, the core of the “Silent Hill” series deals with occult stuff. You can kind of gather that by watching a 30 second trailer for the games.
