4.0 out of 5 stars This was a tough one to review... March 23, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Alright, I ordered Silent Hill: Past Life off of here because it was probably like $1 cheaper than everywhere else (don't judge me, I'm a freshman in college, I literally have no money) for myself. When I got the book, it was absolutely beautiful! I loved the glossy pages, the terrifying, yet gorgeous artwork, just everything about it looked amazing. However, as soon as I opened the book, probably 15 pages just fell out. Obviously I was distraught, so I contacted the seller and explained my issues. First they asked for pictures of the damage (which I actually commend them for) and then offered to send me a full refund, which they did. All of this was within about 6 hours (which is amazing for E-mails, when you think about it). I got the refund within one business day, and they even let me keep the broken copy.

So, to summarize, the binding isn't very good, but the artwork and everything is well worth it falling apart on you. Plus, if you do have an issue with it, the seller is prompt to reply and more than fair. I was torn between a 4 and 5 star review for this one, but decided on 4 because of the damage. Happy shopping!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Silent Hill Comic You Need! May 3, 2011
By Neal
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Easily the best SH comic I've ever read. And Menton did an amazing job with the artwork. It WAS on the short side, that's all I was disappointed with.
At such a low price it's more than worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Silent Hill Comic to Date April 26, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Silent Hill Past Life is the story of Jebediah Foster, a rough man from the Dakota Territories who harbors a dark past. He falls for the widow Esther Munroe, and determines to reform himself for her. Wanting to leave their past behind, they decide to move to Silent Hill, where Esther has some family property to claim. I'll say it right now: Tom Waltz nailed Silent Hill in this comic. The story adds to the overall mythos without contradicting anything of importance. The art by Menton3 is fantastic, and the first to really capture the look of Silent Hill. A good read, and well worth your time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Comic, but it's poorly put together. April 8, 2012
By Michael
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The comic itself was well-made, entertaining, and beautifully drawn. It's not a traditional Silent Hill world like the games or Sinner's Reward, with monsters and the Otherworld. However, psychologically, it captures the essence of the games.

However, it's poorly put together. This is inexcusable. Just reading it flat caused the pages to come apart and this was on the first day I had it. Over half the pages fell came out the first night I had it. Maybe this is common for comic books and I don't realize it, but I never had this problem with his other Silent Hill comic book, Sinner's Reward. Worth reading, but be very careful when you have it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good reading, magazine issues May 24, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Thsi is a good novel, not as good as Sinner's reward. It doesn't inspire fear or tension in the story and the basic concepts of Silent Hill are there, altough in a "lighther" way (no creatures tied to the protagonist sins or fears).

I like the book, but my copy had a problem with the glue in the back, I read it carefully and half of the pages come off. This doesn't happened with my other graphic novels.
