5.0 out of 5 stars Another amazing book by Justice Hawk, November 21, 2004
By
This review is from: Silent (Paperback)
This Author is so different and refreshing, I've enjoyed all his books so far including this one. I hope he continues to write such interesting novels. The life of a submariner, on a nuclear submarine, not something I have really ever thought about, and I doubt that many other people have either. What these brave men endure for our safety is amazing. Submerged in cramped spaces for months at a time, with no fresh air, silent, alone in the depths of the ocean. Yet with the capability at a moments notice to destroy the world. This really was a voyage 20,000 leagues under the sea, but in the real world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, December 31, 2004
This review is from: Silent (Paperback)
Not many people get to set foot in an underwater sub submerged in the dark deep open waters of the dangerous cold ocean. Justice Hawk gives us this experience without even setting foot in a nuclear tin can. But you can only come to appreciate the men and woman that silently protect us in these shadow hunters of the wet chill of the sea.

4.0 out of 5 stars Silent - a great read!, October 18, 2004
This review is from: Silent (Paperback)
"Silent" by Justice Hawk captures the life of American submariners and their lives in a very special way. It gives you valuable insight as to what they do and how critical and vital their mission is to the United States of America. As someone who has been involved in the United States submarine program for over 38 years, I can tell you that it captures the essence of the "Silent Service" and truly exemplifies what a very unique branch of the Navy that submarines are and how it all works to be a vital cog in the "wheel of defense" of this country. A very interesting read. I couldn't put it down once I started on it. Very fast paced, loaded with a lot of very interesting facts and experiences from the first hand perspective of the author. I heartily recommend it!
