Silent Night Or Murder Night?,
By Rudy (Arizona, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Silent Night (Fear Street Super Chillers, No. 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
December is a very special month where everyone lives in peace and harmony, especially for the Christmas holidays. Reva Dalby, the daughter of the wealthy owner of Dalby Department Store, is not having her best December, though. Someone starts sending her weird little presents, she finds a needle in her lipstick, and yes, someone wants her dead. She has committed bad actions before and has done bad things to other people. Reva has everything anyone could want and does not think that something bad can actually happen to her. But soon she realizes how wrong she was. Then the horror begins.Reva is one of my favorite R.L. Stine characters. She's quite different from other main characters in other R.L. Stine books. If you want to read something different from R.L. Stine, you should read this book. You won't want to put it down.

Silent Night is a great book that shows R.L. Stine at his best! The main character is so mean that its funny to hear what she has to say about people. This is suspensful and worth your time.

A super-chiller for all horror readers!,

"Silent Night" by R.L.Stine holds many suspenseful and surprising moments. One of my favorite parts was when Reva, the main character, gets gifts that are sent to terrify her. The card she gets with everyone of them reads: "Happy Holidays From A Friend."This Christmas horror is so realistic that I actually felt like I was one of the characters. The ending is very unpredictable. The villians were the last that I suspected. Reva changes from cold-hearted to good-hearted by the end of the book. The death of a loved one makes Reva act the way she does. I can understand why she would try to act brave and tough, but I don't understand how she could be so cruel. The setting was perfect for the book and added quite a bit to its suspensefulness. This book was one of the best I've read. I reccomend this spine-tingling tale to anyone who likes horror stories. I look forward to reading both sequels to "Silent Night."

"Scary Christmas, from R.L. Stine!",

If you've read and liked the Silent Night trilogy, then this collector's edition is certainly worth buying since it contains all three books (and is less expensive than buying all of them separately):· "Silent Night" -- Reva Dalby, the redheaded baddie readers will love to hate, is targeted by someone who wants to seriously hurt her, while her poor cousin Pam is planning on robbing Dalby Department Store with two of her friends. · "Silent Night 2" -- Reva is targeted yet again, this time by three kidnappers who want to hold her and her cousin Pam for ransom. · "Silent Night 3" -- Reva takes credit for designing scarves her cousin Pam did and heads a fashion show at Dalby Department Store--only to have the models get killed one after the other. Most Fear Street fans will probably enjoy this holiday Super Chiller trilogy, since it has everything that's typical with a Stine book: blood (and plenty of it), page-turning cliffhangers, plot twists, simple writing style, and short paragraphs. However, these things can also be tiresome and predictable at times. But Stine fans who are accustomed to and prefer it will enjoy this trilogy anyway.

First she found a needle in her lipstick, then someone sends her a present containing a surprise. Reva is scared now. Who is doing all these horrifying things to Reva? Reva's money can't help her. I have read a few R.L Stine books and I can say this one is probably my favorite. I suggest reading it in November or December so that it will get you in the holiday mood. It's a very easy read with a good ending. I have also read all of the sequels and I really like this one!

"Happy holidays--you're dead!",

This review is from: Silent Night (Fear Street Super Chillers, No. 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Reva Dalby is a mean-spirited high school senior who has more enemies than friends--1) an ex-boyfriend who can't take a hint, 2) a resentful poor cousin who plans on robbing Reva's family's department store with two other friends, and 3) the son of a man Reva's father just fired (just to name a few)--and any number of them could be responsible for the cruel pranks that have befallen her lately, like receiving a bottle of blood as a gift and finding a pin in her lipstick the hard way. But which one of her enemies wants to harm her the most?"Silent Night" is a fun holiday scare for Fear Street fans. Being the first Super Chiller in this trilogy, it introduces Reva, the redheaded baddie most readers will love to hate, though the second storyline involving Reva's poor cousin (Pam Dalby) is a lot more interesting and dangerous, filled with blackmail, robbery, a police car chase, and murder. The following two books ("Silent Night 2" and "Silent Night 3") are also worth reading if you liked this one. And if you plan on purchasing this trilogy, then I'd recommend buying the collector's edition of "Silent Night," which contains all three books; it's a better deal than buying them separately.

A thriller with lots of shocking twists!,

This review is from: Silent Night (Fear Street Super Chillers, No. 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I liked the book a lot. Although the author's review on the book should be more focused on Pam, Reva's cousin. Yes, there are a few things that happen to Reva, but more dramatic things happen to Pam. Reva is basically the type of rich, snobbie girl that gets her way all the time. She doesn't have any friends, even though she thinks that she does. Her cousin Pam is a down-to-earth type of person. She's begun to hate her cousin Reva. Reva has done nothing but treat Pam like she was worth nothing. Pam wasn't rich at all. She didn't have nice clothes, or even a job. For some reason Reva envied Pam, and always treated her wrong. Pam wants revenge. Her friend Clay cooks up a plan. At first Pam wants nothing to do with it, but eventually decides to go along with his plan. I won't tell you what happens because I think you should read it yourself. But I will tell you that the book has a lot of surprising twists, and I think you'll like the ending alot too! It's a perfect

R. L. Stine's Silent Night is definitely one of his greatest stories in the Fear Street series. Stine develops Reva Dalby as the girl we love to hate. The plot takes many thrilling twists and has a trademark Stine ending that throws you for one last loop. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a few thrills-Fear Street style!

By Miss Sophia "brightlight_00" (Georgia) - See all my reviews

Reva Dalby is always up to no good. Whether she is breaking up with her boyfriend (Hank), play cruel tricks on people (Lissa and Rob, or telling lies (to her cousin Pam), Reva seems to think that life is always about making other peoples' lives miserable because her own life is miserable. But someone is starting to play cruel tricks on Reva...putting a needle in her lipstick when she applies on her lips, delivering a manquinn to her. Someone is out to get Reva this Christmas? She better watch out, and she will be crying. Is it...Reva's cousin, Pam? Pam asked Reva for a job, and Reva lied to her and Mickey's friend, Clay, confirmed that Reva was giving out jobs. How far will Pam go to avenge her feelings that Reva hurt? What about Mickey? Mickey's dad got fired from Dalby's department store. Since that has happen, Mickey and his father are going to have a rotten Christmas. Is it Lissa and Robb? Reva played cruel tricks on them so she could get a couple of laughs. But why would two employees get Reva back from playing little tricks on them. Would they go that far? Reva is a force to be reckon with. Will Reva found out who is doing this to her before it comes too late! Read, Silent Night!!!! |
