About the Author
Lori Henry (LoriHenry.ca) is a dancer and author based in Vancouver, Canada. She performs Polynesian dancing and is developing community dance programs to connect people from all over the world with each other.
She has written for Air Canada's enRoute, WestJet's up! magazine, Reader's Digest, VIA destinations, Western Living, West, Fodor's, Spa, British Columbia Magazine Travelife, VIA magazine (the AAA Traveler's Companion), Gateways (Carnival Cruise Lines), FLARE, and USAToday.com, to name a few. She is the Editor of Massage Matters magazine.
She was also the Editor of Beauty: You Define It magazine, an alternative youth publication that dealt with questioning mainstream beauty standards and our culture's fixation on outward appearance. Her full-length book, Silent Screams (Second Edition, 2008), has toured high schools and youth groups in the Lower Mainland.
Along with writing, Lori also does advocacy work for eating disorder awareness charities. She sat on the Advisory Committee of Jessie's Hope Society (formerly ANAD), was a Director of the You Are Not Alone Eating Disorder Society, and was a Founding Director of Shelley's Angels Society.
She is also a trained actor in theatre, film and television, and has had over 20 years of dance experience.
