5.0 out of 5 stars Good submarine game December 4, 2008
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game has all the great action of the first one with one main distinction that blows the first one out of the water; that being it has a 'career' mode where you are the captain of the sub all through WWII (as opposed to just running single missions in the first one) and you have the chance to gain medals throughout your career. Whether you are torpedo'ing the enemy from below, or rising to the surface to plink em' with the deck guns, it was a great game. You can start small by just going after the tankers (easy) and assorted flotsam, but after you hone your skills, you'll get hungry for bigger fish. Once I found a convoy with two aircraft carriers... I deep-six'ed both of em' and evaded the pursuing destroyers. I wasnt as lucky though when I found two battleships, a heavy cruiser and a complement of destroyers. <shrugs> Career mode is great, just be sure to have a long one that ends with you standing on the docks, not a wreath on the water. :D
