nothing silent about it,
This review is from: Silent Treatment (Audio CD)
The Bled return with what I think is their most impressive album to date. With producer Brian McTernnan at the helm they have produced a competent, fierce and well put together album. This is better than Found in the Flood and it matches and I think surpasses Pass the flask in intensity. Having heard "Shadetree Mechanics" on their myspace site I knew that they were going to try and put everything on this album and I think they have done a great job. The only breaks from the screams come from the beginning of "Asleep on the front lines" and some spoken parts in various other songs and some great chorus fills like on "Silver Lining". I was hoping that they wouldn't drop the ball on this album and I'm very happy to say that they didn't.

Good, but not PASS THE FLASK good,

This distinct, innovative, creative, and insane hardcore band tears fans a new one after claiming they "wussed out" on their last disc (2005's "Found In The Flood"). Their new effort surpasses their previous, but not their 2003 debut "Pass The Flask."

The Bled has finally redeemed themselves since their last CD, Found in the Flood. They're back to their old roots!

I love this band! Pass the flask is my favorite album by the bled, but this one is pretty close. Their second album was not as impresive and I thought maybe they would start going downhill, but they bounced back with this one. Some good break-downs and off beat parts. buy it!

A Seamless Mess,

I first heard of these guys on the Resident Evil Extinction soundtrack and was impressed with the remix of Asleep on the Frontlines. However, when I bought the album, only a few songs grabbed my attention. Silver Lining,Asleep, and Breathing Room Barricades are just a few of the tracks I enjoy. The rest of it sounds indistinguishable from start to finish. I have listened to the album several times and cannot tell one song from the other and when one song ends and another begins. A seamless mash up of screaming with some good singing, and unidentifible riffs and precussion. A stale record indeed,if their previous albums sound like this then I have no further interest in this band.

Nice recovery,

It's so hard to make a record that even remotely compares to the sheer genius of pass the flask, and let's be honest here: found in the flood kind of sucked. So I was a bit skeptical about this album before hearing it. Having said that, this is an extremely solid album, as they've revisited their roots of brutal breakdowns and james screaming instead of trying to sing (which he failed at in found in the flood). Nice work.
