Book Description

June 9, 2000
While trying to heal from the death of his wife, Fred Porter suddenly realizes that the pain of his loss keeps growing relentlessly in the form of nightmares. The bizarre nature of these nightmares leads him to ask Judge Lundgren to reopen the case and exhume the body for further investigation. Porter embarks on a perilous journey that will lead him to uncover the existence of a secret institution funded by corporate America to do neuro-genetic research on women for the sole purpose of understanding what it is that drives them to fight for equality in society today. Porter follows the trail of this secret institution with the help of "Silent Whispers," a phenomenon that comes to him as his wife endures the unthinkable in a remote laboratory.Throughout Porter's search, the institution employs a demented fanatic named Kiegler to stop him. Kiegler leaves a trail of human destruction as he hunts down Fred Porter. With corporate America's conspiracy unraveled, Porter is capable of restoring his faith in the beauty of life through understanding himself and giving up for the good of others.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Wonder..., August 21, 2000
By
Michelle (Kansas City, Kansas, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Silent Whispers (Paperback)
When I first started reading this genre, I thought there were only two authors, King and Koontz. Now, of course, I know of many more and have enjoyed most of them. This novel, however, brings me back to the past. Gripping, unable to be put down - I read this in one day. Not always realistic, but always enjoyed...this one's a keeper.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeper, July 20, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Silent Whispers (Paperback)
Definite Keeper. This was a darn good book. It keeps you wondering what you would do if, in some strange twist of fate you were thrown into such an inexplicable situation. You find yourself checking your rear view mirror more often, and being much more aware of those around you. Such paranoia. It will shake, rattle and roll you; I couldn't put it down. I pulled an all nighter with this one. It makes you lose hope in humanity, and by the end you regain hope, though you are a bit shaky. Very moving.

4.0 out of 5 stars So-So!, October 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Silent Whispers (Paperback)
This novel focuses on the aftermath of a car-crash disaster, a crash that has apparently killed one of America's favorite feminists and has ravaged the soul of San Diego Psychologist Professor Fred Porter. A call to his friend, a Judge, wrenches his life around when he discovers what he's unearthed. Incredible events follow.

The secret behind the mayhem, which is delivered at breakneck speed, concerns a scientific breakthrough into mystical neuroscience regarding Munyemesha presents with sour-sweet analysis. But if his science his suspicious, his soapboxing is another story---a merciless rant against moral turpitude---and his prose is ripe to the point of decay. Driven by morality, this will sell good...and that will be the end!
