From the Back Cover

This highly decorative collection of silhouette designs provides commercial artists and craftspeople with an abundance of elegant and fanciful motifs. Artist Rico Prosperoso has created richly detailed portraits of lovely ladies wearing elaborate headdresses, graceful images of wood sprites, ships in full sail, beautiful floral vignettes, a powerful interpretation of a Chinese dragon, and much more.
Choose from 153 bold and eye-catching designs in varied sizes, covering many subjects. Cleanly printed on high-quality paper for easy and instant reproductions, the illustrations are ideal for embellishing stationery and menus, for decoupage projects, and wherever there's a need for distinctive, beautiful, royalty-free art.

This is one of my favorite and most-used clip art books - full of fairies, dragons, mermaids, butterflies, dancing people, and more. I typically use it as a resource for making handcarved stamps for my journal. I highly recommend it!

This book is strictly pictures of sihouettes. There aren't any tips or techniques, but it has a sleuth of pics that can be easily intergrated into one's art. However, I find there are a lot of female, fairy, and butterfly images, but this is what I was looking for. They are mostly vintage-themed as well (Victorian and 40-50's?).

This book contains 153 royalty-free silhouettes, many of them very elegant. I copy and cut them out to decorate greeting cards (see customer image above for a card using one of the silhouettes of a lady in a hat), but they would also make lovely framed subjects, especially in pairs. The silhouettes include landscapes, numerous ladies in elaborate headdresses, butterflies, flowers, and fairies. There are a few animal silhouettes, but if that is what you're really looking for, try Dover's "Ready-to-Use Animal Silhouettes (Dover Clip Art Ready-to-Use)."

Other supplies needed to create the silhouettes for greeting card decorations include an X-acto craft knife with extra packages of #11 blades, a pair of small-bladed scissors, a printer/copier, Scherenschnitte paper (black on one side and white on the reverse side), a good cutting surface, and glue in a container with a small tip (alternatively, squeeze out a blob of glue and apply it to the reverse side of the cut-out with a toothpick).

I wanted something other than just silhouette designs, but this book is good for some scissor art. It's useful for practice.

I especially love the butterfly patterns! This is only a collection of patterns. There are no instructions so you need to already know how to use the book.
