Dr. Shae O'Reilly gets pulled into the life of narcotics cop, Cade Tremaine, a man intent on finding who is responsible for his partner's death and his own near fatal injuries. When drug dealer, LeFrenz lands in Shae's E.R. and becomes obsessed with Shae, Cade decides to use Shae to get to LeFrenz and his cop killer associates. Shae wants nothing to do with Cade despite the sexual spark she feels for him. Shae's criminal father has taught her from childhood not to depend on anyone but herself, especially the police. Cade is determined to protect Shae while using her to get to LeFrenz. Cade convinces Shae to work with him to find the killers. When the investigation turns dangerous, Cade is there to protect Shae and she is there when Cade needs her most. Of Course there is a happy ending, Kylie doesn't write 'em any other way!
