This flash drive is fast in a USB 3.0 port.

The external casing has a nice design but the plastic housing feels a bit flimsy, so far holding up well however.

I think it was a great deal considering most dealers charge a buck per GB nowadays... Will definitely buy again!

I was looking for a USB flash drive to plug into my Xbox 360 to expand its memory. I found this, and even though it was USB 3.0 it worked flawlessly. I didn't want to order a 2.0 since I've read that sometimes the Xbox displays a message saying that the USB stick is too slow. With this product I did not have any problems, and the Xbox displayed a message saying it met its standards. The product itself looks nice and high quality, not like those cheap looking sticks you usually find at Walmart. It has a led light which lights up when the flash drive is being read or written, I personally think its nice (since its going to stay on the Xbox) but some might find it annoying. I plugged it into my computer (USB 2.0) and it said it only had 28GB, but I guess that's always the case with memory. Anyways, great product! Would highly recommend it for the Xbox 360, if you are looking for USB sticks.

I bought this to install and run Halo 4 off of for the Xbox 360. It passed Microsoft's performance check and has given me much needed space to store games and game saves. I've installed and played a number of different games on it including hours of multiplayer and it has worked flawlessly.

Apparently Amazon has changed this product page to include a selection of several different USB drives. So let me specify for you: this review is for the Silicon Power 32-GB USB 2.0/3.0 Silver memory stick. The other products listed probably have slightly different configurations so do not use this review for the "Champagne Gold" or the "64-GB Black" or any other unit besides the 32GB silver.

If your system has enough clearance to fit this drive, then my review for your case should be "5 stars, good job." If your system is like mine and has the USB ports too close together, then I took away 2 stars simply because it's a hassle to make the drive fit in the space allotted on my computer.

This drive consists of a relatively large plastic housing around the memory chip, with a USB 2.0/3.0 compatible interface plug. The plug can be moved in or out of the plastic by siding a lever with your finger. It also has a plastic loop on the back end so you can slide it onto a lanyard (possibly along with your keys) so it's less easy to drop and lose it.

I bought this specifically for ArcGIS projects that require a lot of memory space and they also need all the supporting files to be on the same drive. It really did work perfectly for that purpose. This has plenty of memory and seems to be pretty stable in terms of not crashing or generating corrupted files. In that sense, it's a great little drive. Some people have complained about the plug retracting into the drive when they try to plug it in, but that's a really easy fix. The bottom of the drive has a sliding lever to extend/retract the plug. If yours tries to retract when you plug it in, simply hold the lever in the OPEN position with your thumb while you plug it in to prevent it from sliding backwards.

I'll keep it short and sweet...

- Tiny! I saw a review here that concerned me, It said this was really wide. I completely disagree. No matter how your USB slots are arranged I can't see how this drive can obstruct any neighboring USB ports.

- It's USB 3.0, so yeah... It's SUPER fast. (Using a USB 3.0 port, of course)

- The cover that slips over the connector is awesomely snug. Perfect resistance to ensure the cover doesn't slip off, but also no latches to make removal a chore when you intend to.

- I don't use it, but it is hard to see in the pic. In case you were wondering, it has a loop to attach a key chain.

EDIT - 27th Dec - Got USB 3.0:
On test 1 I got:
Read speeds : 55MB/s
Write speeds: 45MB/s

I was looking for an inexpensive 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive with good write speeds, and I came across this.

Thoughts:
Looks - It looks slim and slick. I noticed the colours did change as advertised, but I didn't really take note of that.

Speed - Sadly, I don't have access to a USB 3.0 computer, so I had to test it on USB 2.0.

It came formatted as FAT32, It's on exFAT now so I can copy files bigger than 4GB. I noticed a slight speed decrease in NTFS.

Test 1 - Copying over a folder of video files approx 350MB each:
Write speed - 23-25MB/s.
Read speed - 29-30MB/s.

EDIT:

Test 2 - CrystalDiskMark

Sequential Write : 27.660 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 30.586 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 0.509 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 4.680 MB/s [ 1142.7 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.003 MB/s [ 0.8 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 4.680 MB/s [ 1142.5 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.005 MB/s [ 1.2 IOPS]

Test : 500 MB [I: 43.3% (12.5/28.9 GB)] (x1)
Date : 2011/12/14 21:18:20
OS : Windows 7 SP1 [6.1 Build 7601] (x64)

Anyway, it's definitely capable of higher read speeds on a USB 3.0 port, and probably higher write speeds as well. Will update this review if I get USB 3.0.
