Silicone Nose Pad,
By Po (Canada) - See all my reviews

In September 07 when I first used these nose pads, I was slightly disappointed and this is what i wrote:
These nose pads have minimal padding (cushion effect). It is mainly for the purpose of a non-slip effect on eye-glasses. With repeated use, i found them very flexible - they can be cut to shape and doubly stuck on the frames to increase thickness. I'm actually quite happy with them now (08 Jan 08)

The silicone pads is exactly what I was looking for plastic rim glasses that did not have actual nose pad arms. So I needed these pads to stick to the actual frame of the glasses. The silicone pads did work well and prevented the glasses from sliding down my nose, but over the month time frame the adhesive failed a silicone pads did fall off. So, these do work great, but only last about a month.
A better adhesive (if you can find any that sticks to silicone) would be a good design change. As an engineer, I doubt that as silicone is very hard to adhere to.

I have tried both silicone nose pads offered on Amazon (Apex and the 12 pair ones by QTE North American) and the Apex seem to be better because the glue does not come off. However, they also only last about a month. The choice is either get the 12 pairs that smear glue on your face after one month or 2 pairs from Apex that will just fall off after 1 month.

I've always been bothered by my glasses slipping down my nose and by the hurtful indentations made by the nose pads that are built in on my glasses. So I tried the nose pads available at a local store, but the only ones carried there are colored an inhuman, too-bright flesh color, and they absorb moisture from when I'm active and I sweat, becoming slippery so that I'm back to having my glasses slide down my nose. It takes a couple of days for those locally available nose pads to get to that point. But these clear nose pads don't stand out from my skin as the badly colored nose pads, and the silicone doesn't absorb moisture. If the adhesive would last longer, these clear nose pads would never need replacing. But these need replacing less often than the competition.

I really like this product. However, I didn't give it the 5th star because they need to be replaced every couple weeks due to the adhesive life. They bond very well for a week or two, but soon after that, one of them will slide off. I guess I need to buy them in bulk. -JoeBo

Not worth it,
This review is from: Silicone Nose Pads, By Apex Healthcare Products (Health and Beauty)
I thought these nose pad were expensive for the crappy quality. I man, it was roughly $1.50 for ONE nose pad and a glasses requires two. Once they get moist, they loose their grip. They are not as soft for pads and do require some marshalling to get working.

The vendor was great, but the product itself was really uncomfortable, and did not look clear, but white.

I bought these thinking they would help the pain from the nose pieces on my glasses but they did not but they do keep your glasses in place. Maybe it just wasnt what I was looking for, they were a good product but not for me.

I have worn glasses since the 2nd grade. Now that I am 40 I still want to be in style with my glasses more than ever. I really like the plastic frames without the nose pieces. Unfortunately, I have become more sensitive to the ear piece holding the glasses on my face so I have them fitted with room for them to slide down my nose a bit. These silicone nose pieces can be cut to any shape and hold great. You do have to replace them every month because the sticky stuff stops sticking but it is a great product. I have my glasses where I want and you can't really see the silicone with the glasses on.
