This review is from: Eco Cup w/ Silicone Lid & Sleeve Coffee Tea i am not a paper cup look-a-like white porcelain travel mug (Colors May Vary) (Kitchen)
I read about I Am Not a Paper Cup last year, but saw all the reviews that indicated it had problem with leaks. I decided to wait. Nine months later I was at one of those quirky eco/gifty/music stores and I found this Eco Cup and the original IANAPC. The Eco Cup is half the price, so I thought I'd give it a try, and if it leaked or got stinky, at least it was only ten bucks. I've used it almost daily for the last couple of months and have had zero issues with. It's microwave and dishwasher safe. It doesn't smell. It doesn't leak. It's a single-wall version, so the silicone grip is essential. Give it a go--you won't be sorry.

I bought this mug after much searching because it was the only microwave-safe, non-plastic travel mug that I could find that didn't have a review complaining about leakage. I regret to inform you, that the lack of reviews complaining about this problem is not an indication that it does not exist.The trouble seems to be that the silicon lid expands when exposed to heat, therefore when the beverage is steaming hot a gap forms between the cup and the lid. This problem is irritating and inconvenient, but the lid fits snugly for the majority of the time that the beverage is of drinkable temperature. I do, however, have some trouble with it dripping due to the sloshing produced by walking. A far as insulation goes, I microwave it before walking to class (which takes about 15 minutes, in Los Angeles weather, so not super cold), and I find that it is pleasantly warm for about a half an hour after that. I don't know how this temperature retention relates to other mugs, but I thought I'd put it out here. The volume of this mug relative to it's weight is slightly less than desirable but I think that is to be expected from a ceramic cup. It's grip is fairly comfortable. This product could easily get a higher rating if the leaky lid design flaw could be overcome.

I never thought this looked like a good idea until I saw one priced under $10. Then I tried it out and BOY was I surprised! Beverages stay hot, the top seals perfectly with no leaks, the silicone grip protects hands from burns and the cup takes heat from a cup warmer with no crazing at all! Great gift for self or co-worker!Use culinary grade lemon oil to remove lipstick stains from the top and you are good to go again. 2115|R3D6EY65LR8MMQ;2115|R1191RF0MY4MY4;2115|R2873ROV4PHXE2;
