Not so pretty anymore but it works,

I really like this square silicone pan, but the red color doesn't stay. I made low-carb bread (high fat content under high heat). After the bread cooled I was able to peel it out of the silicone pan in one piece. Talk about easy! But the silicone pan bottom at the edges and corners lost their color. Fat + high heat turns the silicone back to clear. Even though it looks all blotchy now, the silicone doesn't feel any different. I still use it because it's the best thing out there for square cakes/brownies/bread. Just don't get too attached to the color.

I bought this pan on the recommendation of other soapers, to use for melt and pour soap-making. It's absolutely perfect! The shiny surface of the pan ensures a crystal clear soap surface every time. And release is never a pain. I would highly recommend this pan for soap-making, and I'll be purchasing another for baking at some point for sure!

My wife is an amazing baker! She has a repetoire of many wonderful cookies, many of which are bar cookies. Some of them, with delicious, crumbly bottoms, were always hard to get out of the pan. They would break up. I bought these pans, thinking they would make it a little easier. THEY MADE IT EFFORTLESS!!! She just tips the whole 9x9 slab out, and cuts them, perfectly, on her cutting board! Amazing, so much better than I ever thought! You made me a hero with my wife, who has thanked me with lots of goodies, perfectly formed!

I love it. It laughs at the heat, releases cleanly, and happily goes through the dishwasher. The only flaw is that it is floppy, so you must put a metal cookie sheet or the like under it if you need to move it with something flexible or dangerous in it (like 300-degree toffee). You do want to be a little careful with sharp knives also, e.g. turn the brownies out first, *then* cut into squares. I now own two of these. If I wore one out tomorrow, I'd buy a replacement the next day.

I use it when I make carmels. No stick. No mess. I also using it in baking. I love the non-stick feature. This had a little studier feel which I also liked.

The anti-stick properties of this "pan" are good. I do brush it with a bit of canola oil before filling it. Clean up is fairly easy but some dark oil splatters remain and are very hard to come off.
I find it very soft and wobbly. You have to place it on a baking sheet in order not to spill the contents when picking it up to shove it into the oven. I've also been using plastic spatulas in order not to scrape the pan.

These pans are pretty rigid and durable. Silicone cookware is incredibly easy to clean and use. It's the perfect non-stick material. I've replaced just about all of my metal bakeware with silicone counterparts. If I had to buy a gift for a newlywed couple, I'd get them a set of these.

I purchased this pan at the recommendation of several of my cookbooks, and I've been so happy with the results! I have made brownies, coffeecakes, and cinnamon rolls and all came out of the pan perfectly, without any sticking or tearing. It's important to place the pan on a sheet pan for ease of transfer into/out of the oven. I've never been able to flip a pan over and have a whole sheet of brownies pop out in one piece, and making sure every inch is covered with parchment is such a pain in the butt... This is a great alternative!

We are in a severe drought and the birds are suffering. I used a metal pie pan and a metal cake pan to put water out for them. It worked well, but the metal eventually corroded. I decided the silicone would be easier to clean and it has been. I think these will last much longer. The one problem I have found with them, and I would imagine this would also be a problem if you were using them as a cake pan, is that you cannot fill them and then move them. I can't fill them at the faucet and then move it to the patio. All the water spills out as the silicone bends and folds. I have to use a hose to fill them. I can see that this would be a problem with using them with cake batter. If you fill them on your counter, they would be impossible to move to the oven without spilling. You would have to place them on a cookie sheet and I don't know if that would cause a problem with how it cooks on the bottom. For actual baking, I think I will stick to metal or glass.I have now been using these as birdbaths for a couple of months. They have held up very well. I can hose them out and they clean up well. No rust stains on the patio. I have 2 of them side by side. It has been cute to look out and find the male redbird in one and the female in the other. It's like they have their own hot tubs! |
