3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not perfect
I ordered on the recommendation of a friend who found this item very helpful in healing plantar fasciiatis. It is ok for me, but I did not get the results that she did. They don't work in all shoes because it does raise your heal and that is not always comfortable with the cut of the shoe.

Still, if you have plantar fasciitas, like I do, it is worth a try as...

5.0 out of 5 stars Relief for my plantar fasciitis, October 15, 2009

These heel cups were recommended by my podiatrist to alleviate, and hopefully cure, the plantar fasciitis that I came down with as a result of dancing incorrectly. My wife and I enjoy folk dancing and have participated in many dance festivals on North America. The dances involve many polka type steps, and the plantar fasciitis developed because I was coming down on my heels, instead of toes, way too much. The pain was so bad that I was very doubtful about continuing dancing.
I did stretching exercises and wore a night splint, but these treatments only lessened the discomfort and didn't cure the plantar fasciitis.
Wearing the Silipos heel cups finally cured the problem, along with continuing the other treatments until the pain disappeared. The soft silicone absorbs enough shock to allow the tendons in the foot to heal fully. I continue to wear them daily, and after eleven months of continuous use they show no sign of wear or tear.
While dust and lint readily stick to the surface of the cups, they are easily rinsed off in warm water, and do not need washing with soap.
I highly recommend them. And, I'm still dancing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leg Brace user, May 20, 2010

I wear an alland Blue Rocker leg brace to correct drop foot. The brace has a flat kevlar plate that fits under my foot. I wear an insole on top of the plate, but it still caused Plantar Fasciitis and bursitis in my heel. My podiatrist recommended your product and for the first time in 8 months I am walking without pain. I think your heel cup should be recommended to anyone using my type of brace. Thank you for your product!

5.0 out of 5 stars did the trick, January 10, 2011

I am pregnant and due to the pregnancy weight gain started to experience the pain of a heel spure on my right foot. I had one about 6 years ago when my prepregnancy weight was the same as my now pregnancy weight. I have lost a lot of weight in the last decade!! The doctor I saw 6 years ago got these for me. They helped then, so I figured I would try and find them on my own.

They work like a charm! I use these in just about every shoe I wear now and I can walk and stand on my foot for as long as I need to without pain. (before I could only make it about 20 minutes at work or at the store) I use these heel cups in conjunction with stretches specific for heel spurs that I found on the internet. Now I only really feel the pain when I am seated and stretch my foot incorrectly.

Some reviewers have noted that they slip down into the shoe on them. I have not had this problem once my foot is in the shoe. To put my shoe on, I grab the back of the shoe and the lip of the cup and hold the cup snug against the back of the shoe and put my foot in. This seems to keep the cup in place when putting your shoe on. The only other thing I can think of that is note worthy is that they are nice and thick to give that cushion I was in desperate need of. With the thickness, they are difficult to be worn with shoes that have a shorter back (the part that goes up the back of your actual heel towards your calf). I suggest bringing the cups with you when purchasing shoes to make sure they fit well in the shoe to ensure there is enough room for the shoe to stay on the back of your foot when walking. So far the only shoes I have had a problem with are high heels, but my foot is elevated enough to take the pressure off my heel that the pain is not as bad anyway and at 8 months pregnant, I only wear high heels when absoultely necessary!!

Overall, great product that gets the job done and I highly recommend them!

These inserts have made it so I can play tennis again without being practically crippled the next morning, unable to put any pressure on my heel. If you have plantar fasciitis, get a pair of these. The cushioning is wonderful, though you should probably also get shoe inserts with arch support (I recommend Sole brand). Also, you can Google "taping plantar fasciitis" to read how to tape your foot and heel before engaging in athletic activities. The combination of these three has made an *enormous* difference for me. I didn't have the problem other reviewers had regarding the inserts sliding up.

3.0 out of 5 stars pain relief, maybe ?, February 9, 2009
This provides relief but you have to combine it with strech excersizes. I am a little dissappointed that it has already started to crack. I purchased a similar item in the shoe store locally and it seems to hold up better and work just as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars useless - throw away your money, January 10, 2010
By
RioRico (North America) - See all my reviews
This product does not help plantar faciitis. There is no cushioning and the sides of the cup easily roll under your heel.
You might as well stuff your money into your shoe. Then at least you would still have your money. The only WONDER of this product is that it is being manufactured and offered as a solution for anything. Total JUNK.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless unless you can glue it in place, June 6, 2010

Within 50 steps these heel cups rotate 90 degrees and become very uncomfortable in the shoe. I don't know about you, but I don't have time to keep taking off my shoes at work and realigning them.
