From the Manufacturer
This heavy-duty woodworking saw with 11-4/5-inch blade is a favorite of carpenters and joiners. Utilizes proprietary Silky 4-RETSUME (Four Rows of Teeth) Technology. Teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be 4 rows of them. These are rough cutting hand saws for heavier tasks. The aggressive tooth pattern is not too coarse, not too fine - and the compact blade profile allows cutting where other saws cannot reach. The wide durable blade is ideal for rough cutting and heavier tasks, excellent free flowing discharge of chips. Can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. This Silky saw series offers more than a cosmetic difference from other Japanese saws. Drawn-aluminum, rubber-gripped handles give these saws much greater heft than the typical rattan-wrapped wood handles. Replaceable blades are removed and reinstalled with a single ingenious action with a quick flick of the reassuringly stout locking lever. All other advantages of Japanese saws remain: fine kerfs due to the pull-cut teeth; precise, controlled cutting; and durability from impulse hardening. MASTER saws are in single-edge crosscut format (KATABA-type), and are not taper-ground. Comes in a blister pack. Made in Japan. MASTER is available in four blade lengths: 10-2/3-inch (270 mm), 11-4/5-inch (300 mm), 13-inch (330 mm), 14-1/5-inch (360 mm), and five teeth sizes/configurations (tpi teeth per inch): 14.5 tpi Fine Teeth, 11 tpi Fine Teeth, 10 tpi Medium Teeth, 9.5 tpi Medium Teeth, and 7.5 tpi Large Teeth.
