This is a really cute book - it is a favorite on the kindle. The drawings are funny and well done, the words are silly and fun, and best of all the counting is in the right order (lol). Seriously, I like that it goes up to 20 since my kid is just learning the teens.

Unlike most of Hawksley's picture books there's no storyline other than what the title says. Twenty different sets of a type of monster in ascending order from 1 to 20. The monsters are all non threatening, the cover art is a good indication of what you'll find inside. All types of monsters are made up words like Lampwhizzers or Scribblescoungers which are a bit of a tongue twister to say, which just adds to the fun, especially if being read out loud. Basically it's a learning the basic numbers book. Different silly monsters appear in this one to Silly Monsters ABC.

Enough silliness to keep my 6 year old involved even though I got it for the 4 year old. Overall a nice in line read for the little ones.

I am a children's book author and illustrator and part time astronaut. I like making Kindle books. I live in a small castle beside the River Snood with my chums Lord Treacle, "Mousy" Mousington and Otto Fishblanket.
