This scale has fit an incredible niche in my life that I didnt think would be possible. I work with a lot of obese folks via weight watchers, many of which are unable to weigh themselves on customary scales. That's where this portable scale comes in.

The base is a little heavy, but, that's to be expected with a high capacity scale. It is incredibly accurate and can weigh anyone you'll ever need to weigh :)

in addition, I would imagine, its quite nice for your average shipping store.

It is a high quality scale made of high quality and durable parts, and seems to show little or no wear through repeated use. I'm very happy with this product and so are my larger friends who are having trouble weighing on 330+ scales.

I'd highly recommend this scale to any and all doctors offices in the nation who are having trouble finding a high capacity scale to weigh obese patients, that's affordable. Some bariatric scales can cost thousands of dollars!

I weigh 700lbs and don't have insurance so I can't go to a doctor weigh in and WW can't weigh me. I felt I needed to know what I weigh in order to help me lose weight. I have lost 25lbs in 3 weeks and it is really helping to see where I am. It is very very durable and I've had no problem after 4 weeks. I highly recommend this product.

Since my hubby cant weigh himself on an ordinary scale, this 1000 lb max Siltec Scale was perfect. It was the lowest price of any others just like it that I could find to ship to OHIO the low ship price was fantastic. Scale has enabled hubby to keep a handle on his weight, which wouldnt have been possible without it (even most of his doctors dont have a scale that can accomodate him)> I like the scale for myself also. It lines up with the professional scales at my health club and elsewhere as I am a "normal" weight. ..so I am assured of it's accuracy.

I am obese and am loosing weight. While I don't, nor have I ever, weigh 100Lbs, I do weigh about 500 so I needed a set of scales that could go beyong the cantemporary 250-325 of the normal bathroom scales. These are perfect for that purpose. Big Red LED readout makes it easy to read with-out having to mount the display on the wall, I just leave it at the top edge of my scales. It's well worth the $250 sticker price. They are a little larger than your typical bathroom scales, which is actually a good thing...that makes it easier to balance when standing on them.

I purchased this scale for my husband who is a large guy. It's extremely well made and we've put it right next to the treadmill machine. It's easily readable with the extended screen. Highly recommend to anyone who is larger than the normal 250 - 300 lb weight capacity most scales only offer.

This scale is probably alright, but mine (ordered thru ScalesGalore via Amazon) didn't come calibrated. It was weighing 45+ lbs light (4 people got on it; it was consistently off that much for everyone)! Reading the instructions, i found out i couldn't try to calibrate it myself without voiding the warranty. So i paid to send it back and then had to pay a 20% restocking fee (that, of course, it not mentioned anywhere on Amazon when you buy it!). The scale is very heavy/sturdy, but the weight does fluctuate a lot when you're standing on it (up and down 5-10lbs). Do yourself a favor and don't order this here unless you are REALLY REALLY SURE you want it. There's no guarantee you'll get one that's set up right, and returns are a pain!

best scale i've ever bought. Well worth the $ if you need something that's over standard capacity. Even comes with mounting brackets for the reader. if you want to mount them on a wall. Requires plug-in power. Very heavy duty.

If you are a super-sized individual who has difficulty finding the right scale, this is the one for you. I spent years going to the hospital or dialysis clinic (wheelchair scales) to weigh. This one does the trick. At $249+shipping, this is a steal. A quick check of any medical site will show you that scales of this caliber are usually in the $1000+ range.

Siltec makes a fine product. The base of the scale is heavy and oversized. I had no trouble getting both feet on the scale.

You may notice that Siltec also makes a 500 lb capacity scale that sells for about $40 less. Trust me, spend the money and get the larger-capacity scale. Think about it-- if you tip the scales near the extreme end of the mechanism, it is less likely to be accurate, and will wear out faster. This scale has a digital readout that displays both lbs and kg. It requires that the AC adapter be plugged in, and has an on/off switch.

I recommend that you print this item for your doctor, if you doctor or health club still uses the old counter-balance scales. This is a worthy addition to any professional office in the health industry that works with individuals over 330 lbs.

Beware of calibration problems when shipping through UPS. I recieved mine with the calibration off by 50 pounds. Lucky for me the Distributor is 1 hour from my home by car. I took it to them and was fixed to perfection. But for those who do not live in Northern California beware of potential calibration change during shipment. And the hassle you may have with all the shipping back and forth to fix it! Otherwise GREAT scale GREAT VALUE!!
