Silvalume Flexible Afghan Hook 22''-Size H 8

I am an extremely experienced crocheted, having been taught at the age of 10 and now over 60. This product will work; however, it is poorly engineered. The actual crochet shaft is too short to get enough leverage to comfortably crochet. The flexible attachment is attached so that it turns up from the hook when you are crocheting, making crocheting an item large enough to need the longer hook extremely difficult and tiring. I was working on a 242 stitch afghan using 4 ply yarn and gave up after the first five rows. Found it easier to cram all the stitches on a regular afghan hook than fight this flexible one. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I really love this crochet hook with the flexible line for an extended large piece. I love that it is so smooth and easy to work with, it was my second Bates purchase and I would highly recommend them as I own other types of hooks and these really tend to be my favorites.

Comfortable to use. It's just the right size for

the blanket I'm working on and has enough room

so the stitches don't bunch up.

Metal hook with a heavy flexible line attached to the end. It does come with a learning curve. It only took my wife about 20 minutes to get the general feel for using it. She has been crocheting for the past few years and makes me a pair of socks every winter. She decided to try circular crocheting and and is making another pair of socks for me. Metal loop hooks is the better way to go, they will hold up longer. I'll be buying other sizes when my wife finds new projects. Unfortunately we can't buy this type of hook locally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great needle, flying through my project!, May 17, 2007
I lost most of my good afghan hooks in a move, and am just beginning to replace them as I need them for new projects. I ordered this one, received it in less than two weeks, and am no almost finished with my project, an oversized throw with several color changes. The needle is so flexible, I can even stretch it a little to get those last few stitches on! I've never used a flexible needle before, I will never again use a nonflexible needle again!!! A++++

This review is from: Silvalume Flexible Afghan Hook 22 Inch -Size J 10 (Kitchen)
It's what was expected, and it was delivered on time. I'm using it for Tunisian crochet, and it works just fine. I made a project with 124 stitches, and they all fit on the needle.
