Every horse raised its head and stood staring, unbelieving. Three magnificent silver stallions cantered along the ridge of the hill. Who were they and what brought them here? Danger and death face all the wild horses before one of them can become the Silver Stallion of the South.

A Kid's Review
The book is an excellent book for youth. I found that the movie was very little like the book. The book has the horses with personalities that speak to each other. It does help the story line to know what is going on. It is odd that horses go on quests to find out what is going on, but it is a good story with a lot of interaction.

3.0 out of 5 stars Australian SF Reader, July 31, 2007
One of Thowra's sons is old enough to move out of the old man's place and go and sow his own wild oats, so to speak.

Another male horse goes with him, and they end up in competition over one particular filly. In this case, the other man pretty much wins. Seems there is another girl around though, but she is vrey hard to find.
