This book, which is now out of print, is short enough -- a mere 72 pages -- that I read the entire thing the same evening I got it. Don't get me wrong though, isn't a short summary book. It includes a lot of original research that really can't be found anywhere else. It details the narrow gauge activity surrounding Silver City, New Mexico, primarily focusing on the Silver City, Pinos Alto, & Mogollon Railroad. It also covers some area history relative to the period of narrow gauge activity.

Though the book is short it's focused on the "formerly untold" story of this short lived 2-foot gauge railroad. There are numerous pictures though many are not of print quality (the publisher has a note about this in the beginning of the book). The book's author also includes some sketches of a few pieces of rolling stock to give the reader a better idea of it (the reason why is it's a bit hard to fully make out the caboose and ore cars from the photos).
