A must have for anyone, who uses destilled water for watercooling! They last forever and the price is nothing, compared to how needed and useful they are! Highly Recommended!

PC Water Cooling,

I was tired of using Feser One cooling fluid it kept generating lots of particles that would clog my filters and cooling blocks. I decided the best thing to do was to get back to the basics and use just distilled water and a kill coil, since the change over there are no more particles of any kind and no algae growing and it has been two months now so I am happy again. So if you are water cooling your PC don`t use anything but distilled water and a kill coil or you it may end up costing you a lot of time and money to clean and replace parts.

Siver coil did exactly what its suppose to, suppress organisms from growing my my computer water cooling loop. But I had Al, Ni, and Cu in the loop too. The Ni or Al and the Ag were 2 electrically dissimilar metals and they started to corrode each other. After 6 month of not knowing this was going on, I had minimal damage from the corrosion which affected my GPU and silver coil. When I pulled the silver coil out of my water, it was almost black. MAKE SURE U DONT HAVE 2 DISSIMILAR METALS IN THE LOOP. If u buy this coil make sure that u dont have Ni or Al in the loop. I'm not sure which one caused the corrosion but I think it was the Ni.

I have never had a liquid PC cooling system so I cannot compare to other methods of cleansing. No problems 2 months later in my distilled water system. Seems to do its job.

Works but just an FYI,

Worked quite well for the first 5 months or so in my custom PC water loop. Unfortunately the silver coil started to turn brownish color and this eventually turned all my tubing in my water loop brown as well. The discoloration wipes right off but its a pain to look at and ruins the aesthetics of your build. I only used distilled water for coolant (no dyes or anything else added). Silver coils I've used in the past are just as bright and shiny 6 months in as they are the day you drop them in the loop; I don't know why this one reacted the way it did. Oh well, it only costs a few bucks so not much of a loss for me. On the bright side, it did prevent growth from forming in the water loop; but I think I will be sticking to PT Nuke.
*UPDATE* Upon further research I have discovered my issue arose because of my XSPC black chrome fittings. I am changing my review to a 4 star instead (up from 2 star). 1 star off simply for the fact that the silver reacts with the compression fittings in my loop (not really a fault of the product though). If you have all regular chrome fittings in your loop then just drop this guy in your res and you'll be all set! It will work perfectly, but absolutely stay away though if you are using any black chrome anywhere in your loop because the black finish and the silver will NOT play well with each other. Go with a PT Nuke instead if this is the case.

Why worry about bacteria/algae build up in your liquid cooling system? Just add one of these.

Package from Sidewinders computing was great. I got it next day with free shipping. It may seem like an expensive investment but with silver prices above 20 bucks an ounce summer of 2014 its probably not crazy over priced. I would buy from Sidewinders again! I'm still building my system so I'll come back and update my review once I've got the product installed and running. Historically I've ran water cool systems and have had trouble with cloudy liquid. I try to use cooling liquid made for water cooling systems (anti-corrosion/anti-microbial, etc.) but I did have a water block get an algae bloom for an unknown reason a few years ago; so the silver was extra insurance against algae and microorganisms.

The actual value of the silver is about $1, you could probably get a better deal from a jeweller. Any silver will have the same antimicrobial properties.
