A lot of bang for the buck! I have 2 of the E-Sky Lama V4 helis, besides several other popular makes of coaxial type helis, ranging in price to over $300. The E-Sky V4 is among my favorites and I probably fly them more than the others. Mine doesn't have the 2.4 ghz radio, but I believe its standard the newer models. Quality and duribility is is right up there with some of the more expensive brands, good fit and finish. Body decals are very well applied, allthough I would rather have a choice of schemes. Its very easy to fly (for a helicopter) and most anyone can learn to control it in a short time. Hands-off flight of about 10 seconds can be obtained when properly trimmed. Flight time is 10 to 15 minutes, which is good for a coaxial. I fly mine outdoors when winds are (VERY) calm. This is the least expensive coaxial heli I have and it performs as well as the more expensive ones. Parts and up-grades are readily available and inexpensive, although my local hobby shop doesn't carry E-Sky products.

Pros: Very stable, Easy to fly; Quality; Price, cheap, you can afford more than one!

Cons: Can't think of any.

The Lama V4 must be the best offer for radio controlled INDOOR helicopters there is! For less than 100 dollars you get a fully functioning helicopter, small enough to fit in the tightest living room. I even fly it through door frames into surrounding rooms. At first it is a little hard as a beginner to get used to the controls, but once you're through the first 5 or 6 rotor blade sets (like 3 bucks per set), you'll have great fun! I fly little races against the clock and compete against my dad, which is pretty cool. Anyway, nothing for impatient or too young kids; you need hand eye coordination and some fine motor skills.

P.S. Take loose paper off the helipad (coffee table).

This is a great beginner rc heli, I wouldn't consider it a toy as some say, its more entry level into the rc heli hobby. I have a collective pitch mini heli that i have crashed a few times so i decided to take a step back and use the Lama v4 to develop my basic flying skills and it was the perfect decision. Although its a beginner heli I think there is still an assumption you know what you're getting into (i.e. the broken english manual barely helps). Easy to fly indoors, upgrade and repair parts are relatively cheap and easy to find on the net, and there are plenty of message boards available to help. The heli itself is very basic so you will want to make some upgrades - must haves: xtreme blades (the stock blades lasted me about 2 weeks-flimsy), upgrade the landing skids - ultra flex skids and an extra battery to keep the fun going. Order the parts before you need them to shorten repair time. For apperance and stability i took off the cheap plastic tail and put on a more realistic looking tail boom. Remember this isn't one of those micro helis you see on tv for $49 that can bounce off of things, although simple in design this has true heli principles at work. So if you move it in one direction you have to counter that move to stop it, etc. Do a little research before your first flight so you can truly enjoy it.

When I opened the box you get everything you need. It is everything it states but it is very flimsy. It flies somewhat easy but when it landed the landing gear broke. I didn't land it that hard and the gear is basic plastic. If you are looking for a 4 channel helicopter I would look somewhere else. If you are looking for a cheap 4 channel helicopter that will not last long, you have found it.

I found this helicopter easy to fly. It is very stable. I am able to fly it around my living room without crashing into things. I can not, however, fly it outdoors. The slightest breeze will make it uncontrollable. The one problem that I did have was with motor burnout. The rear motor would burn out after a couple of flights. After replacing two rear motors, I bought a set of ball bearing motors. I have flown with the ball bearing motors several dozens of times now with no problems.

Got my first Lama as a gift and loved it. The motor burnt out after 3 months so I had to buy another one, but still I find it hard not to give 5 stars on every category!

LAMA V 4 is a decent toy and worth the money. The gyro does work well. However the battery is velco'ed under the heli instead of having a stationary compartment. This might affect the stability during flight. Also the charging time takes about an hour. The blades broke after the first flight. Overall it is an okay toy.

This heli is a piece of junk. The whole product is bad. Manual is HORRIBLY written, the software (flight simulator) does not work. Any small crash will break the blades. Finally (the worst left for last): there is no way to make this thing stable. Playing for hours with the trimming on the remote control leads to no stable flight. I read through the forums and the only thing people recommend implies having to change the axis/rotors/other hardware, or to mess with the settings in the servo controller inside the helicopter. Not good at all. There are cheaper and better alternatives out there.

This product could be great fun if only it worked. I had read the directions over 3 times and was trying to use the flight simulator(which either didn't work or that it was increadably complex and had no decent instructions. After giving up on the simulator, i decided to try and fly it. It worked perfectly for the first 2 seconds, than it malfuntioned and slammed against the wall, breaking the blades and the blade holder and the thingy on top. To summerize, it is cheap, un-durable, and a waste of money.

This was a joke. First of all, the instructions are in the WORST english they hardly even make sense. 2nd, the helicopter does not recognize input from the remote - it spins around completely on its own and does NOT respond to any controls. 3rd, when turning the copter on for the first time, the blades went shooting off into all directions - I am NOT joking NOR exaggerating.

My only hope is that I can return this crummy product that I spent over a hundred dollars on which isn't even worth ONE dollar.
